Houston Nurse Residency Spring 2022

I wanted to go ahead and start a thread for all the Houston applicants! Where is everyone applying and what units? Would love for us to connect throughout the process.

Memorial Hermann people! Apparently I applied incorrectly when picking my choices.. can anyone help me understand what they mean by this 

“You have listed a unit in your application that was not on the specific unit list for your second choice campus, Pearland.

Due to the competitiveness of applications applying to our Nurse Residency Program, we are requesting you

send an email within the next 48 hours to [e-mail] with your first choice unit based on

the list given below, or your application will unfortunately be declined as an “Incomplete Application.”

That means that you selected a unit that the Pearland location has no residency positions open for. When you got ready to apply they had each location listed and the available units that they were hiring residency spots for. Pearland is a very small hospital, so if you picked an area like L&D or Mother Baby for example, they’re not accepting applicants for those areas so that’s why you received that notification. You have to make sure the location you select has your interested specialty available.

I’m not from Houston so IDK, I just applied to whatever was listed so IDK how I’m supposed if they are offering units there or not ?

There's a list of all specialties per location on the job listing.

Good luck to everyone!! And no problem @Nurszey96 I completely understand. It did have the locations and their areas listed in the application, but sometimes we’re so excited we skip over some stuff on accident LOL 

I’m applying to L&D! What about everyone else?

I did ER and CVICU!

I actually already received an offer for another ER in TMC, but I'd really like to get into Memorial Hermann.

I believe you’ll enjoy Memorial Hermann! I’ve been an employee for about 6 months and I haven’t had a bad experience as of yet. Every company has room for improvement, no matter where you choose to go. I hope you get your offer from Memorial Hermann! Which locations did you apply for if you don’t mind me asking?

I applied to St. Luke's forever ago and still haven't heard back! I hope you do!! How did you apply to Harris Health? I thought they didn't open until the 22nd?
