Houston Nurse Residency Spring 2022

I wanted to go ahead and start a thread for all the Houston applicants! Where is everyone applying and what units? Would love for us to connect throughout the process. 

Oh wow! I haven’t submitted the application yet, but started a day or two ago for St.Luke’s. We’ll see what happens! And Harris Health’s residency application has been open since September 1! The close on September 22! So that may be where you got mixed up. It’s just one application that they have listed under LBJ. Once you get to Step II, they will ask you in a separate survey if you have a preference of Ben Taub, LBJ, or open to either.

If I’ve gotten an offer from a different hospital too, can I still apply to memorial hermann and houston methodist? please help!

Oh my gosh!! I even emailed them to ask when it opened and they told me 22nd!! You saved me! Thank you

I don’t see why you couldn’t apply. As long as you haven’t accepted any offer yet. I would think you’re open to apply to as many jobs as you want!

WOW!!! That’s crazy!! Yes the deadline to have both steps completed is September 22. So you’ve still got time! After you complete the application, usually within the next day, HR sends you a link to Survey Monkey and they’ll ask basic stuff like contact info, ADN or BSN, graduation date, NCLEX date (if applicable), GPA, etc...and they’ll ask you if you prefer days, nights, Ben Taub, LBJ, either and they’ll ask for your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice areas to work. Then after you submit that survey you’ll have to email your resume to their GN Residency email address. Hope that helps!

No problem at all. We’re all resources to help one another. That’s what nursing is all about. Honestly I can’t remember them all, I literally just looked for OB ones and kept it moving ??. I know they have ER, ICU, NICU, OR, L&D, Newborn Nursery, MedSurg, Tele. I used to work for Harris Health before going to Memorial Hermann, so I remember some of them. I can’t remember if they had CVICU as an option. I know medical ICU and surgical ICU for sure. Sorry LOL

I just completed the survey for Harris Health. I was wondering if there was something we needed to print after the survey or I should just go ahead to send my resume?

They will see that you’ve completed the survey. You just email your resume next to the email address they provided

Did yall put highest degree earned as "Bachelor degree in Nursing" and then "other" as year graduated? Or did you leave it blank?? I'm not sure what to put since my BSN won't be done until 12/2021
