Houston Nurse Residency Spring 2021

Hello! I created this thread for those graduating in December who are applying to nurse residency programs in Houston for the Spring 2021 start date. Good luck everyone!!

I was so incredibly anxious and nervous LOL but it wasn’t too bad. It was the tell me about yourself, why nursing, why PICU, toughest patient and how did I deal, and then asked questions about my resume

Congrats on finishing your interview! If you don't mind my asking, how was your interview and did they let you know when they would get back with you?

I emailed them. My email said in person interview. They have not responded to me. Which unit and campus are you applying to?

just finished my interview for Greater Heights. I think I did great but you never know. Fingers crossed, I forgot to ask when they’d get back to me

Hope we hear back this week! I asked but didn’t get a timeframe just “stay tuned and HR will be in contact with you”

I had my interview with Heart IMU today but the CVICU nurse was also on the panel. I think it went well! They told me I should know by the end of the week, and if I don't hear anything I should call them. I'll take that as a good sign!

Do you mind sharing what they asked you ? I hope you get the job !

I interviewed there as well I didn’t realize the CVICU nurse was in the call I just had two people on my panel!

Is anyone interviewing with St.Lukes next week? Any insight on how the interview will go since it is virtual and from what I counted, 6 slots were available for each time slot?

Anyone do the phone interview for Houston Methodist @ TMC? I have my phone interview for the OR on the 27th so just trying to gauge what they’ll ask/next steps.

Tell me about yourself

Tell me about a time you prioritized

Tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult patient

Tell me about a time you made a mistake

Tell me about a time you went above and beyond for a patient

That's all they asked! I asked three questions and the interview was around 20 min.

Nice! Was it the Sarofim Heart IMU? I hope we both get the job!?
