Hello everyone,
I have started a thread for anyone who will be applying for Houston Community College ADN Spring 2016. Please add any questions and or comments and hopefully we will be able to exchange information here and keep ourselves positive on our journey to get accepted into the nursing program. I can't wait to hear from everyone! I haven't taken my HESI A2 exam so any pointers would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
I did apply and get accepted into Chamberlain, but I'm not so sure I want to go that route at this point. Feel free to PM me about it!The HESI is a standard test and is the same as all other HESI tests taken at other schools. They make you take all sections except physics and the critical thinking sections.
The Chemistry sections was, in my opinion, the most difficult BUT that is because I've only taken HS Chemistry in like... the 10th grade? That was quite some years ago! I have yet to take Chem at a college level, probably will in the Spring if I don't get accepted into a 2 year program. I did the worse in this section, but still passed. They didn't factor in that part of the test anyway from what I understood (not sure why they make you take it still)...
I don't recall exactly what was on it, but if you look up HESI guides on quizlet, I found those INCREDIBLY helpful!
Thank you! I just sent you a PM. Let me know if you get it!
Just wondering, but does anybody when the students who are exiting nursing school take their NCLEX-RN exam? The faster they get it done, the faster we'll know if they will have the program in spring right?
The students take it or are taking NCLEX in September so depending on the scores that is one of the factors that will determine if they have a spring program or not.
So based on there scores will constitute whether they will have a spring program or not?
Yes because if the NCLEX scores are low the board of nursing will not allow them to have a spring program. You see HCC has scored low on NCLEX the past two years which is the reason their program has a warning. If you google it you will see exactly what I am telling you.
Have you applied to other programs?
Has anyone heard of their accreditation status as of now?
I haven't heard anything but we will know after we get accepted. Even if we get accepted into the program after the board reviews scores mid October they could tell us they are not having a spring program. That is why it is so important to apply to other schools.
