Hello,
Just wanted to know if anyone is applying this April to get in for fall 2015 ADN program at HCC?
Also, I have completed all of the required prerequisites and I am taking all of the recommended classes this Spring. Do I still have a chance of getting accepted even though the recommended classes are still in progress?
I plan on registering for the HESI as soon as HCC updates the test dates and I am hoping to get a date in February.
Any info is helpful :)
So this is what happen I was conditionally accepted and later on wait listed then sent a email stating wasn't accepted. So upon speaking with Kate Dumond and Rosa Nguyen they explained everything to me. So what happen was they anticipated to have enough room for over 150 students but the clinical space they usually secure didn't give them as many seats as they usually did ....Meaning that each facility usually gave them 25-30 seats but they only got like 80 seats combined and 15 of them were LVN TO RN seats.... So they accepted the students but didn't have the clinical space to house everyone that was accepted so they wait listed some of the accepted and looked at everyone's application in detail and accepted based off highest HESI and GPA scores and of course if all requirements were done.
I know it's quite ridiculous... They actually had one of the coordinators come off his vacation to try to secure more clinical space which wasn't successful...oh yea they spilled everything because I was playing 20 questions with them because I needed to know what exactly was there malfunction......
I was at the Aug.5 orientation . A former classmate of mine was there as well ; she informed me there were people there who had NEVER taken pharmacology, HAD NOT COMPLETED the required courses, and HAD NOT COMPLETED their background and physical examinations and WERE ACCEPTED into the program .My question how are the unqualified were admitted and the qualified weren't ?

Were you waitlisted or conditionally accepted?
Did you also ask why they conditionally accepted so many students just to find out that a good chunk of them weren't even going to get accepted because of space availability?
