Hello,
Just wanted to know if anyone is applying this April to get in for fall 2015 ADN program at HCC?
Also, I have completed all of the required prerequisites and I am taking all of the recommended classes this Spring. Do I still have a chance of getting accepted even though the recommended classes are still in progress?
I plan on registering for the HESI as soon as HCC updates the test dates and I am hoping to get a date in February.
Any info is helpful :)
Hello everybody, and congrats on making it into the program. I am planning on applying to the fall 2016 nursing program with a GPA of 3.76 and a overall score of 83 on the HESI. Will those credentials be good enough to get me in the program, please any information will be helpful. Thank you
Hey guys. I'm a current ADN student at HCC and I'm doing my peds/ob semester.
I don't want to sound like a downer, but if you got rejected by HCC despite that you guys got better grades then I would think of that as a dodged bullet.
HCC is ridiculously disorganized, there were barely enough clinicals for us as it is and even when classes started we were all confused as to where to go. The professors don't even know themselves if they are teaching a course and end up dropping out!!
I can't even imagine how it's going for y'all newcomers! :c
I've come this far in the program so I can't back out now, but if I could re-do it over I would apply to Lonestar, San Jancinto or another campus except HCC. The nursing program is in danger too cus not enough people are passing the NCLEX-RN (only 70%).
However, if you decide to stick your guns to HCC then I wish you the best and if you have any questions, feel free to ask me! If you guys decide to move on to another program, then I wish you the best as well.
Take care guys!

That's extremely frustrating and upsetting to me because I attended orientation in August and was told that I would have to apply for the Fall since I hadn't taken Micro yet. I don't agree with their process at all. It seems completely unfair and unorganized.
that's ridiculous. they really need to get their program more organized.
i understand that a lot of nursing programs have their troubles, but HCC's nursing program even waits until AFTER class starts to fix anything. it's really unprofessional.

Hello- did you say the professors were even dropping out?
I apologize you are having such a hard crazy experience but do know that it should get better.
I have a friend that started the nursing program when they first opened Chamberlain program in Houston and she said it was total chaos. They didn't have enough instructors and they practically had to teach themselves in a course but once they got settled everything went back to normal. They were just like the guinea pigs of the program which sounds like this is why happening to you guys. I hope this gets better.
By the way would you happens to know what is the lowest GPA that was accepted?
I am seeing a lot of folks on here that had high GPAs and still didn't get accepted into the program.
Take care guys![/
