Hello! I was writing to see if anyone has applied to the HBU FNP or PNP program. I am looking into my options since a hiccup in my personal life disallowed me to accept another schools offer, and found the HBU program which is all online and now accredited. The website is very vague in terms of application process and admission requirements, however I am very curious on the offerings the program has. I have reached out to the school, but have yet to hear from them and would love the insight from other current/prospective students.
Hello,
I am in cohort 7 in the PNP program. Honestly, I am struggling with the online teaching format and the lack in interactions. It is all self taught which has been hard currently in Pathophysiology. I am in Austin and they do not have any clinical contracts locally either so I do not know how finding preceptors will be. If you learn by reading and are able to self teach without much direction you will be fine but I am not so I would probably not recommend it if you are like me.

Cohort 6 was same way! Self teaching is very difficult. The patho and pharm tests are easy to master if you know the right way.

I studied my *** off and could never get their damn questions right.
I felt like none of it pertained to what was assigned study.
let me just tell you.. I found the questions and answers online. They just get them from some website. Also look up quizlet. If they still let you take it twice then you can look more
Hello,
I am currently accepted into HBU FNP program as well as TWU for the Fall 2021. I am weighting the pros and cons of both to see which one is a better fit for me. If any of you have completed or is currently in the HBU FNP program, can you give me any insight on the program. I am unable to find any reviews and the little that I did find were all negative. I am only leaning toward HBU because it is in Houston, the program is shorter and less expensive. But cheaper isn't always better LOL.
Thank you.

Hey there guys.. I know this post was made loooong ago. I am in my third semester with HBU. I am currently enrolled in Advanced Health Assessment, growth and development, and Adavances diagnostics. I think this is absolutely too much at one time. Clinicals, at home studying, in person simulation, being a working single mom.
I have found instructors to be less than helpful during advanced pharm. I feel instructors just aren’t doing much instructing. I think the 8 week courses would have been better. I am literally in information overload with these three courses and clinicals right now.
application process was horrendous. Couldn’t get in touch with anyone. Obviously I got accepted but even after that my name was wrong on everything so even more difficult to get things taken care of.
hoping someone here has some encouragement for getting through rest of the program.
