Anyone been accepted to HBU for 2014? Or anyone know what to except?

Thanks for all your help. Finally got my acceptance letter. I'm so excited but very nervous about what's ahead. Hope to meet you guys soon!!:)

Soooo...happy for you. Congs! Let the race begin for all of us. In the letter, there is a date when we should submit all documents. I am kind of worried for my background check....I come Africa and I have only been here (U S) for only 3 years. The time difference may be a problem when running my check.

A few months ago, my husband got a job where they had to run this check and it seemed to take forever. Am praying though. Happy for you again

I am driving myself nuts trying to balance this semester, work, and trying to knock out this Nursing School to do list.

As for the extra classes you have to take, I think that it's only 3 christianity courses, which are super easy depending on the instructor you get. Don't let that feel like a weight on your shoulders, they are a piece of cake.

HBU has a clinic, If you already have your HBU#, then you can go to the Student Health Clinic to get most things done. That's what I am doing. The Flu vaccine is only 20 bucks at HBU's clinic, and if you go on their website you can see other prices. As for the titers and other things we need, the Doc. there said he would refer me to a lab where I can get it done.

PLEASE!!! For the drug and alcohol testing DO NOT go to the place they recommended via the email. I just went today and was NEVER seen because apparently the owner just up and leaves when ever he feels like it. I waited for an hour after my appointment time and it was just a waste of time. I was never seen! The lady next to his office said that he does that to his clients all the time and that is just unacceptable, since most of us are limited on time.

I understand...it can be very overwhelming. I finished the required lab test although my doctor ran out of the TDap (apparently some sort of national shortage) I called and found a clinic that still has some left. I know that they only require the titer, but what if they come back positive? My doctor told me she could give a booster, but is this the same as the series? I know most of the series take a while, so I guess it's all up to the department if this has to be done by Dec 9th deadline. I also have to take the reading profiency test, but I'm hoping it won't be that bad:cat: Thanks for the advice on drug testing clinic. I worked for a drug testing clinic for 5 years...it was so unorganized! I'm going to start that part next week.

I got accepted too! But I got "conditionally accepted." If I get everything done on the list, does that mean i am in?

You have been accepted, but you need to complete everything listed before the due dates, otherwise you can't start.

Did you at least sign the acceptance letter and submit it to the School of Nursing (SON)?

Hey everyone!

I swung by the SON to ask about personal insurance, and it turns out you can use Gold Card, which is free! Hopefully this is helpful info for you all. I will definitely be using that as my personal insurance.

Has everyone done their Fingerprinting yet?

Thanks but whats the Gold Card and how do I get one? I did my finger printing sometime last month and i just got the little blue card in mail. Trying to get my immunizations in this week. My reading proficiency test is on the 5th Dec.

Does anyone know if we have to attend both the SON orientation the college orientation?
