Hello! There are a few threads floating around regarding applications to Houston GN/Nurse Residency positions. I just wanted to start one that discusses all residencies in Houston.
I have already applied for a Memorial Hermann and Ben Taub Nurse residency position. I have also applied to the CVICU, ER, and Women's Services positions for Houston Methodist, as well as an ER position at Texas Children's. I am considering if I still want to apply to St. Lukes. I have decided not to apply to HCA nurse intern positions because they pay beans for the first 12 weeks, and I don't want to work for a corporation that takes advantage of their employees in that way.
I have been invited to Ben Taub's information session, and have received an email from Memorial Hermann HR regarding a behavioral assessment to be an eligible candidate for employment.
I'm wondering where you all may have applied and if anyone has heard anything back from their applications yet?
That's explain why you want to work in neuro ICU! Amazing story. I think personally Im just nervous because this test determine a lot. This job will not only be my dream job but help my family soo much!! Im glad to.know hurst and world help!! Anybody wanna add each other on facebook??
Hey Hun. Did they ever explain to you why they were starting you in Feb?
Hi guys, have you received calls from hospitals for interview?
Recently, a HR lady called me. I had an offer at hand, but she immediately offered a higher hourly rate to lure me into their interview.
I did not ask, but I suspected that their candidate either might have a problem passing nclex, or backed out. Otherwise, they had no reason to call people for interview so late.
Did you guys get similar calls?
Question? I received my offer letter from Memorial Hermann, but I am still waiting for the onboard paperwork. How long did you wait for the onboard email. I am a little on the excited side and know our start time is soon.
Im thinking you should already gotten that email with yout screeb date right?

They are also opening new positions. I got calls from hospitals I did not even apply to. My last call was last week so yes. You also have to remember St Lukes and TCH interviewed people late so if they accepted one offer, but they really wanted St Lukes or TCH that could be one of the reasons you are getting calls.
I have a question - about to go to Occupational Health at Memorial. Is this where I will get the information about where I am suppose to meet to start work? I am also hearing about Culture Day being 1/22, but my the paper has a start date of 1/25. I am just a little confused and hoping I am not the only one
