That's hilarious. I just battled my way through a winter storm this morning ( I am north of Toronto).- 20C with the wind

Enjoy your weather! :)

Someone fried an egg on the footpath outside work today. Was 43 degrees at 6 pm. which someone informed me is 110 fahrenheit, when I left work and yes, it is was difficult to sleep, feel a wreck this morning.Ahh Melbourne and in a few months we will be freezing again.

OH how I'd love to say it's too hot! I live in Connecticut (USA) and we just came out of a cold snap. Yesterday morning it was 11F which I think converts to -12C. Add in the windchill and it felt even colder than the 11F/-12C!

I hate the cold, I hate snow. I really believe I am an island girl trapped in a New Englanders body! Give me hot and humid all day any day over cold! I'm the crazy tourist who purposely books a vacation to a Caribbean island at their most hot and humid times!

Ceridwyn what is 'freezing' to you in terms of temp. What is Melbourne's average temp for winter?

Freezing - when it has been 1-2 c overnight and I am getting in the car The days are 9-10c.We do have it better in summer than the Northern states though, for when it is hot during the day in Victoria it usually cools down to 18-29 degrees c at night so that sleeping is no problem.Last night however that did not happen. The Caribbean in summer, hot and steamy sounds like going to Queensland or up north somewhere, madness! In summer. It's also the rainy season up north so it's steamy most of the time at the moment. When it is winter time in Melourne - Victoria that is the time to head north for warmer weather. Queensland is nice then. 20 -30 degrees.

We do have mountains nearby and a ski season, which lasts about 3 months in winter.I hate the stuff just like looking at it from a distance! :)

Wow, I was happy when we got up out of the single digits (farenheit) this morning! We spent several weeks in Australia a few years ago and loved every minute of it! People were so generous and kind, it was a wonderful experience :).

I hope it cools down for you soon, though--but not freezing, lol.

I am Irish I am not built for the kind of heat that we experienced yesterday. I am not looking forward to the next few weeks.

I know it is pretty selfish as Tassie is burning to the ground and parts of VIC as well.

 Up to 38 okay for me, less than 22, too cold for the day.:coldfeet:

As long a it cools down at night, you have a break from it.....:stinkyfeet:

Hope you have a better nights sleep tonight.

10c/50f in winter...Ohh I'd take that ceridwyn! haha.

Today is a bit cooler thankfully - was 44 here in SA when I finished work last friday afternoon. Too hot!!

And to those of us in the farenheit system, 44 sounds pretty comfortable, actually... :cheeky:

I live in the northern suburbs of Adelaide and it got to 45 in the shade and 48 in the sun..... I cooked a steak on the road (for curiosity sake) and I have my nights and days mixed up because its too hot to sleep so I snooze during the day, I tell yah the Mexicans have it right!!
