are there hospitals in usa who accept foreign rn with little or no nursing experience?
thanks need ur help guys, i just passed the nclex exam. i am worried that i won't have a employer for my license will expire by 2012.. nursing agencies here in our country only accept nurses with at least 2 years experience:crying2:
Yes, there are some hospitals that do, but again due to the financial situation of the country, and many new grads being unable to find jobs, I would say that the most experienced nurses cath lab, ICU, Dyalisis, NICU, Yes they will have better opportunities in finding sponsorship depending on their knowledge and experience.
hi! just wanna clarify. there are still available positions for staff nurses but hospitals cannot afford to employ and sponsor foreign nurses due to budget constraints? also, is USA experiencing an oversupply of RNs?
Not just about budget constraints but also there is retrogression and currently waiting time of 5 years for a immigrant visa and not all nurses will meet H1b requirements.
Yes, the US has an oversupply of RNs both domestically and those who have went abroad and have returned to the US. A lot of RNs are having issues finding jobs, both new & experienced. At this moment the US isn't a place where an international nurse should focus on unless you already have a GC or sponsor, which also at the moment are slim to none.
My advise to all international nurses is to find an alternative plan and focus on that in order to gain nursing experience. If you truely just want to practice as a nurse then you will go anywhere that's willing to accept you. If you're focus is just a ticket to the US, then DEFINATELY this isn't the route to go as you will be waiting for a long time. Good Luck to all.
hey greetings to u all.i am a foreign educated nurse.i came to usa and passed the nclex 2months ago as a registered nurse.but its been difficult for me to get a job.most agencies tell me they dont value my home experience ,that i should keep searching for hospitals that will value the experience and my foreign credentials.does this mean i should go back to nursing school here in the U.S.?i have been reading some posts here that foreign trained nurses and new grad are being recruited in texas esp ICU.Can any body help me ?i need a job.i am licensed in texas(compact license).will be more than happy to get a job at ICU or any department in the hospital.im currently in maryland.thanx

I already posted that South Texas is an area where they seem to have new grad positions. This was a few a few months ago. It may have changed since then. The only thing about Texas is that there are no ratios there and you can have an outrageous amount of patients that most will see as unsafe. Good Luck to all.
