Our county nursing agency is unionized- New York State Nurse's Association. I believe very different from other unions because it's for nurses only. Very proactive for the nurse. Very good union.
How can we get unionized like the Newyork proactive nursing union? I live in Calif. Is it worth the hasle of getting it together?

I have never worked for a union. I would love to, but too many people think it will never happen here. I hope they're wrong.

Most nurses here in uk belong to a union. The most popular one is the RCN (Royal college of Nursing) and is run for nurses only and most of them are or have been nurses. They offer advice and help when needed. Good idea to be in one ifyou ask me.

Oregon Nurses Association. And thank God for it.....I'm not political at work, and I don't agree with the union's every move; but I've worked in LTC where there is no union, and the pay & benefits were crappy. Never again.

I am in a union (SEIU local 2000) It is hard to say whether it is good or bad. I think if it were the teamsters it would be run better but as it is right now I don't think it is worth my time or my money
