holter report help

Published

hi. i'm not a nurse.. but i really need some advice and help with some medical problems.i noticed that there are seperate areas for different conditions. i'll start here with my holter results. any information is greatly appreciated.

final impression:

1. rhythm was sinus with episodes of brady/sinus arrhythmia

2. rare premature atrial contractions are present

3. no ventricular ectopy noted

i'm 29 years old. i am a little over 200 lbs. in november i was diagnosed with hydrocephalus and arnold chiari malformation. last week i was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries (translady partsl ultrasound) the dr gave me metformin. i haven't taken it yet because i'm not sure it's the right med. they didn't even perform any blood tests. can you tell me where to post about this? the ct scan that showed the enlarged ovaries also showed a thickening of the wall of the sigmoid colon. could suggest possibility of mild changes of colitis?? my grandfather has colitis. i don't want to do the procedure that will diagnose this unless it's necessary. i'm a mess right now. please help me!

Hello, hakernsy,

I'm sorry, but the members of allnurses.com cannot offer you any medical advice. Please, pose all questions/concerns to your health care provider.

Please know that we care.

no help as usual. you couldn't even help translate my report? i see plenty of advice and opinions on this website! i guess this is the same as the treatment from my dr.. no answers to any of my questions. thanks for nothing!!

When did you post it? Sometimes it might take time for people to see your messege. It could have been push back to another page if alot of people were also post on different topics

Sorry if you feel slighted.

Sorry, hakernsy....this is an online community of nurses and it's against the rules and regulations to offer medical advice..heck, it's against the Nurse Practice Act as well.

I am sorry but this is a site FOR nurses, both future and present. This site is not for medical advice. IF you read the TOS when you signed up it very specifically states that Medical advice is NOT allowed.

I am sure that if you will do a search on PCOS, Holter monitoring, and cardiac dysrythmias you will find a wealth of information.

You could start with WebMD.

Good luck.

I Just looked at your previous post also, And they are correct it is in the term and conditions that ALLNURSES doesn't and can not give advice.

It is not because no one wants to help you.

Please contact you PCP and talk to them, ask them to explain it to you.

i'm not asking for advice. i just wanted to know what a test result meant.. not how to treat the problem. i see plenty of opinions given. you didn't have to lock my thread. maybe someone with the same problem, who is not a nurse, may have responded. you know what? nevermind! i haven't slept in 3 days, and this obviously isn't the helpful site it looked like. i apologize for the inconvenience.

Dear Hakernsy,

Please know that the people on this board are a very caring group. But you are asking us to do something that we wouldn't do for even a family member.

If my Mom approached me to interpret everything you said, I would take her to her PCP myself and stay with her to support her and have her Doctor answer her questions. You have mentioned several test results. We cannot help interpret what this means. We care. And believe me, we want to support you. Call your doctor. Take care.

Since when does a online community of strangers become more important to you than your OWN doctor!??

We aren't responsible for you or your health. You aren't our patient. Don't post nasty messages when you know that questions like that are a clear violation of the terms of service.

Ask your Dr. That's what she's there for.

but i really need some advice and help with some medical problems.i noticed that there are seperate areas for different conditions.

you misunderstand the purpose of the forums. they are for discussion of nursing issues specific to those specialties, not to provide medical advice on those topics. if your hcp has failed to adequately explain your test results, you should persist until your questions have been answered to your satisfaction with the provider who knows your full medical history, rather than posting to strangers on an internet board.

thank you for your understanding.
