Holmes ADN acceptance letters for Fall 2011

Published

Has anyone heard when the acceptance letters are going out for the Fall 2011 ADN program at Holmes Community College - Ridgeland?

Congratulations!!!:)

I got your private message and cannot for the life of me figure out how to respond!!! Could it be that I don't have enough posts yet???

I think you've just reached your 15th post with that last one. See if it will let you respond now.

I'm applying to the program next fall and was just wondering to those who got in, what did you make on the ACT? Wondering how much I should up mine or if it is high enough.

I think mid to upper 20's on ACT is typical. I certainly don't mind telling you my scores because I know I felt just as nervous as you do until I finally got my accecptance letter last week.

Here's a quote from my letter "...there were a total of 787 applicants....applicants are ranked by points given for ACT scores, GPA, living in or out of district, and 5 years or more out of high school..."

So, to give you an idea:

I had a 27 on my ACT, I have a GPA of 3.65, I live in Madison, and I've been out of high school for 15 years.

Good luck to you! :)

Congrats to all! There are only 2 classrooms in the nursing building so we will be neighbors! Lol. Best of luck to you and a word of advice.... ENJOY YOUR SUMMER!!! Your life will revolve around your textbooks and your clinical group starting in August! :D

Specializes in medsurg, clinic, nursing home.

Just wanted to say good luck. I'll be graduating from this program in 9 days & 15 hrs!! I don't know how many they originally started with but it was probably 50 or 60 and we will graduate with 35 I think, 10 of those are LPNs that started this yr. I got to skip the 1st yr and started in 3rd semester. I highly suggest studying the book no matter what handouts or notes they give you. Clinicals are easy, the teachers really just look at it as a learning experience. Anyway Good luck again. You'll be so busy that time will fly by!

I thought I would be the only one out of high school over 10 years. :yeah: And by the way, I sent you a friend request on FB.

Hey everyone, I got accepted to the program as a LPN. I start in June. I want to know who all will attend the ridgeland campus?

Once again a rejection letter from Holmes but this year the rejection letter had some new information on it! Well I will just keep trying until someone lets me in! I am waiting for itawamba now

@FancyNurse11. I did't know they were picking out LPN class students yet. My bf goes today for her compass test.

I meant to say i got in the transition program and we start in june. I am already an LPN.

@fancynurse11 That's great you will be in my class then!!! :)

Specializes in Orthopedics.

Congrats ya'll!!!! I just graduated from the program Thursday! We started with 60 and graduated 37. STUDY!!!! STUDY!!! STUDY!!! For those of you "nontraditional" worried about being "nontraditional" DON'T! A lot of us were nontraditional. I must say though, I have a previous bachelor's and this was far harder than anything I have done so far. It takes major dedication and determination. It is a huge sacrifice and you will question WHY you chose this path A LOT over the next two years!!!!!! I know I did...Stick with it and you will be glad that you did. It is a very had journey, but you can do it!!! I remember waiting...I see they still make you wait it out and are behind Hinds getting letters out. So, you have to decide between the two. Some things never change I guess. GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATS!!! You have amazing instructors and will be so glad you chose Holmes!!!!
