Holistic Health Assessment starting 9/23

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Hey everyone! I wanted to start a thread to see who is enrolling in this course. I have purchased my books used on Amazon. Hopefully we can get through this course together!

I hate this class. I know I'm being fussy but this is so dumb. I was hoping that after nursing school the professors making things harder then they need to be would have been over. I feel like I already proved myself by being accepted to nursing school, hanging in while some dropped like flies and then graduating and passing The NCLEX. Why oh why can't this be a little bit easier and straight forward? I just took the quiz and did horrible.

I'd email the AC but I'm sure I won't get a reply since the last two questions I've posed were never responded to. I'm also not taking Algebra at UTA either, after reading threads on that I'm taking it at a local CC and transferring it over. Not sure why I have to take college algebra when I have statistics...grrrrrrrr. I'm NOT doing my masters through UTA, oh hell to the NO.

Realized I didn't rate muscle strength against resistance and forgot the denominator for reflexes. Ugh. That will add up. Ninety pages of stupid objective assessment and watch me get a crap grade because of that. At least I realized it before week 5!

Ugh I don't think I did that either now that you mention it...

Were we supposed to rate stength? I assessed ROM against resistance in musculoskeletal, but not strength. Didn't rate ROM, just said it was full...

If you get a crappy grade after 90 pages of effort then it's not you, it's them.

This class sucks. I'm sitting here in a hotel room in Paris trying to do my stupid genogram. I really don't give a damn anymore. I don't even understand this genogram and what we are supposed to write so it will be B.S. per usual.

Sorry Brickle,

Wish you were out on the town tonight. Sitting here doing the same thing. No fun trying to transfer data over from the templates into word. Guess it might be alright for a computer whiz. I'm actually pretty good with formatting, but this stinks. Hope you have lots of fun and see lots of cool stuff in Paris anyway!

Yes this class has been very repetitive and the schedule has been beyond challenging....... but luckily this is the last week! I took a hit on week 4 quiz and that dropped my grade to an 86% (I was trying my best to get an A in this course). Now with weeks 5 assignments left I'll gracefully pardon with a B just to have it over with.

OK. The Week 5 assignment 2 seems too easy, cutting and pasting. Hoping I'm not missing anything. Remember they want APA format for this one.

Are you guys just using nursing diagnosis that you already came up with? What exactly is everyone copying and pasting? I'm afraid I'm missing something as I thought we needed to come up with the three different dx and then just copy and paste the pt subjective and objective info that corroborates our dx. That right?

After literally screaming and crying x4 my husband figured out how to do the stupid formatting. Spending hours with these stupid shapes is a waste of time and makes me hate this course. I am phoning it in for the objective and don't care anymore. I hate school at this point. HATE IT. I just want my life back.

Thanks! Saw the Arc du Triomphe, Lourve, Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame today! Tomorrow is Napoleon's Tomb, more Lourve and another museum. Good thing there is no shortage of wine here because this course is literally driving me to drink.

Agree about the "stupid shapes," Brickle. On part II, I understood that we were supposed to use the info from our discussion posts about the "actual," "risk for," and "wellness" diagnoses, then add our subjective and objective data to back it up. The journal entries were already looked up in discussion, so I threw those in too. I haven't turned it in yet bc it seemed too easy compared to what we've been through. I think that's right but if it's totally off, someone please holler!
