Hey everyone! I wanted to start a thread to see who is enrolling in this course. I have purchased my books used on Amazon. Hopefully we can get through this course together!

I don't know why your assignments are 60pages long. I guess this is why I am receiving 80s. the longest any of my assignments have been is 7 or 8 pages.

I am starting week 5 in the morning. I just finished week 4 for Health Promotion. So I will start week 5 health assessment tomorrow along with the journal article. This week looks rough to be honest.

When I took the class, my assignments averaged 6-7 pages. The longest assignment I had was the final paper which was 30 pages including cover and references. Still finished with an mid-range A.

I don't know if they changed the class between when I took it and now, though.

Ok just finished my genogram. I just made it in word on the assignment it's self. I just put a blue box for male, and a red circle for female which I got out of the insert tab, then shapes, then chose a color fill. I connected them by choosing the line in shapes. Then what I did is inserted a text box under each shape, typed what I needed and right clicked to format text box and made the "box line" invisible. Once I had a colored shape for each sex, I just copied it over and over, same with the lines and text boxes which you can just erase the copied text and type new info for the new box then move it to where you need it. It was a little bit of a pain because some of my "clients" family has a lot of history for a small text box so I ended up having to move things a bit but over all it wasn't bad.

I haven't done the Eco map or Ecomp or whatever that is yet. I haven't taken my test yet either. I'm getting a B in this class and taking it and running.

Has anyone gotten comments back on their work that seemed snarky? I feel like her comments on my submissions are getting snarky, maybe it's just my frustration but that is my perception. There aren't a lot, but some of them read with attitude.

Mine are about 7'ish pages also. I condensed as much stuff as I could, short and to the point while trying to include names of tests etc...

I am currently trying to figure the genogram out ...blah and then on to the ecomap.

Yes I am taking a b and running as well....way to intense for my liking!

The genogram was almost too easy for me. I worried lol

Agree about the "stupid shapes," Brickle. On part II, I understood that we were supposed to use the info from our discussion posts about the "actual," "risk for," and "wellness" diagnoses, then add our subjective and objective data to back it up. The journal entries were already looked up in discussion, so I threw those in too. I haven't turned it in yet bc it seemed too easy compared to what we've been through. I think that's right but if it's totally off, someone please holler!

This is exactly what I was thinking so I'm glad to hear that you think the same thing! I guess I totally over-did it with my assessments, but honestly, with no idea about what they want, I figured if I just threw everything plus the kitchen sink at it, I'd be golden. Hoping to hand in my subjective tonight and objective tomorrow and then take the final on Thursday. Can't wait to get it done!

I've been watching this thread during this class and it has helped me tremendously. Thanks. Just finished final and many of the same questions as other tests. Also some questions on breast exams. I'd never read that so that was a scramble. Other than that it was fine. I took the full two hours. Good luck. Glad to be done!

Final exam, and week 5 assignments and discussion completed - along with a SCATHING review of this course and the absolute abysmal job that my AC did. DONE! 92% on the exam, full two hours and I am D.O.N.E! Thanking my lucky stars that my art course seems to have its stuff together much more than this course and that nothing is due until next weekend!

I think the due dates in this class are not designed for the working professional, the response time of the AC to be awful (3 days+ if at all) as well as this busy-work nature of this course to be ineffective. Not to mention the rigidity of the program.

Final quiz was okay, lots of repetitive stuff around the heart and lungs mostly and yes, there is a ton of breast which I was surprised about. I will be in art history and legacy the beginning of next month and may suck it up and take another nursing course...then by next semester its 3 more course (including research...blah!) and off to Capstone! Can't wait to have my life back!

Looks like we survived the dreaded Assessment course after all! I feel good it is behind me! 3 more classes to go - woop! Best wishes to everyone!
