Do you give gifts to your PCT's/CNA's for the Holidays? If so, what have you done in the past? I would like to do something for them as I am so grateful for all of their hard work, especially being shorter staffed. Just looking for some ideas. :) Thanks!

Small bottles of scented hand lotion? Hand sanitizer can dry out the skin and it's nice, after working all day, to have something pleasant smelling to put on your hands.
Give cards for coffee would also be appreciated, I'm sure.

Nothing. Most of them are back stabbing 2 faced and lazy where I work. They hide on the floor so no one can ask them to do anything. Mgmnt know. Nothing is done.

They are compensated for their work. Not much mind you, but that is not my fault. No one is ging to get me anything for doing my job......
Anyway, giving gifts at work = tricky because someone will invariably be forgotten and bad blood will result. Better to remain professional and neutral at work. People at work are coworkers, not friends. Most will back stab you in a new york minute to better themselves.....

Good lord @ the above.
I vote for food. It's something that everyone can share. Nobody will feel like they got a "gift" and should've gotten one in return, but everybody gets to enjoy. Cake, cookies, etc.
I must say, I am so glad I do not work at the places some of you work.
I ask this because I have been a tech in the past before becoming a nurse, on the floor that I currently work on. And the nurses have all gotten the techs a little something to show how much we appreciate them. I especially want to do something for them this year because we are super short staffed on my shift and they have worked extremely hard. Thanks for the suggestions, those that gave them. :)

I probably won't get them anything. There are a few I love but many who are terrible. I wouldn't want to be choosy about who gets gifts. I am working Christmas so I'll make some food for everyone.

Food that can be shared, gift cards for a local restaurant (Starbucks, Timmy's, etc.), packs of pens (assuming they go through them like water in a sieve), gel inserts for their shoes.... try to think of things that will make their workday easier.
But definitely give everyone the same gift to avoid hard feelings -- if there is someone who goes "above and beyond" and you want to do something extra, then take her out to lunch and give her a separate gift away from the unit.

No cookies! No one needs more crappy sweet food! I mean who isn trying to prevent weight gain at holiday time?!Nice tea or coffee would be great. Maybe mugs for the staff room?
A veggie tray with light dip or crackers with cheese-n-meats is always a nice change from all the sweets during the holidays...

I am a tech and I would love a lunch bag. Maybe some pens since I go through them like water. What about gift cards?
