History 1311 and 1312

Has anyone taken History 1311 or 1312 with Dr. ****? He has great reviews, but I keep reading on this site that History is time consuming and difficult but no mention on the teachers names. Any suggestions on who to take and who to stay away from?

Thanks in advance,

I think he has just started teaching the online course. The reviews on allnurses for history 1311 and 1312 were from a previous instructor that appears to not be teaching the courses in the spring term. I am taking it with the other teacher that is teaching 1311 next term.

That is great to hear! I have been worrying about that class! Happy I decided to take that class now with new teacher. I will be taking it in Mid-Spring! I also read the reviews for the teacher you will be taking it with and I found good reviews for her as well! Good luck to us and thanks for your response! :)

I'll be taking History 1311 soon. have you started? and what's the name of the professor if you don't mind sharing. thanks!

I haven't started yet. It starts next week on 3/23. (honestly, not looking forward to it). We re not allowed to post names in this forum. But what I can tell you is that this teacher has great reviews on his on campus classes; 4.7 out of 5. It seems that this Spring is his first time teaching the online courses. So I m hopeful that it would be a good class to take with him. When do you start your History class?

Hi Nursndy,

Sorry for late reply. I m not sure if there was more than one instructor teaching this class for the classes starting on 3/23. Did you enroll after all?

Yes, I am enrolled. I already dont know about this course... what are your thoughts?

Same here. It seems that it would be very time consuming. This class is set up very different from other classes I have taken, so it would take a while getting used to. I just hope that the test does cover the material assigned. I ended up writing down all due dates in my planner to make sure I don't forget any assignments. Never had to do that before, but with this class, I don't want to take any chances. I guess we just have to give it a couple of weeks to 1)get the hang of it, 2) get an idea of how difficult the tests are. We can do this! hang in there!!! :)

The setup is so bizarre. I already don't like having to move through content to open the rest of the weeks content. I want to see what I need to read right away.

I agree, the set up is crazy, it is so easy to miss something! you can open content ahead of time, just click on 'finish topic'. ( well at least for the Unit that covers the 2 weeks.) I don't like the multiple reflections. The course workload seems unrealistic...I have already spent about 20 hours this week trying to comply with all the material:(

Definitely easy to miss something, which I did! I missed two of the "reflections" because they were buried in different folders. I wish they were all in one place. I am so mad at myself for missing them because I am normally very thorough. At least there is an opportunity for extra credit in this class. UGH.

Phew, he said he is being lenient with due dates because of the layout of the course, so I can complete the reflections still. I was having a mild panic attack.
