Hiring nurses in Philippines

World Philippines

Published

Hi guys! I need help. I am a new registered nurse. Has anyone know a hospital that is hiring for staff nurse or a hospital that has training for new graduate nurses this feb or march 2008? I have inquired in so many hospitals but I had a hard time looking for one. Thank you very much. :balloons:

You should rephrase your subject head, others have mistaken your title as "Hiring Nurses in the Philippines" as an invitation for application and yet you were trying to ask for a vacant position in the hospital in the Philippines. Please present your purpose clearly. Thank you.

The subject of the thread is the prerogative of the thread starter, and in my opinion it is related to the topic at hand. I think the thread starter has stated his/her purpose clearly with the first message of the thread.

Hi pipz! I'm an RN but no Volunteer Experience yet. I graduated last 2006 and took the board exam last December 2007 and passed it. I'm currently in Taguig City and I'm looking for Hospitals that I could apply for Volunteership. Do have any Hospitals to recommend? How much their Training Fee? And What are the Requirements?

Hi! Gambutrol! I'm wondering what does Pahinungod means? And what are the things you do there? How lucky you are to be a part of the PGH team. I want to try volunteering also. So hard to find jobs nowadays since I passed my NLE last Nov 2008.:omy::icon_roll

pinkrose,

Hello.. Pahinungod is an organization formed by UP students for UP students initially.. then they opened their volunteer programs to the public, one very popular volunteer program is the Emergency Room Volunteers Program since most outsiders choose this program esp. nurses.. I would like to reiterate that this is not a nursing volunteer program.. supposedly what you will do as a volunteer is to assist patients/relative of the patients with the process of admission.. if you will be assigned in the triage area you will help the triage officer to do vital signs checking, instructing patients/relatives on where to go (where is this, where is that) and allay/comfort the patients.. if you'll be assigned in the ambu-ER you'll have the same as the above mentioned responsibilities plus nebulizations.. you can also be assigned in the pedia-ER and observation unit.. for level 2 you can be assigned in the ACU.. back in 2007, they allow volunteer registered nurses to do nursing responsibilities like tube feeding, suctioning, skin tesing, IV insertions.. but I don't think they allow this already especially the IV insertions, since stricter policies have been imposed since our application for the ISO certification.. I had the chance to do this since most of the nurses became my friends..

BTW, Pahinungod also has community immersion, medical mission etc..

By the way, Do you have an idea if they are still open to accept volunteers for that program? What requirements do they need? Do they provide some of your expenses like food and transportation? How long did you volunteer for it? Sorry for so many questions. Thanks

Well I don't know what to feel right now after learning that there's a lot of me to go around (registered and without a job). I am a second courser with a degree in Computer Science and I also worked for several companies including Convergys before opting to study Nursing full time for thoughts of greener pastures. I passed the board exams last December 2008 but until now I am unemployed. I am reconsidering to go back to my previous work but I am a bit confused at the moment if it is the right thing to do or not. I am not getting any younger and year after year there's an influx of Nursing Graduates. Reality bites that we need hospital experience to work abroad but we can not get any since the country are so "overcrowded" with Nurses and local hospitals are taking this chance to exploit us RN's.

I hope someone from this thread will be able to provide some useful work information for us Job Seekers. Thanks for reading my sentiments. :beercuphe

I am not sure if they still accept volunteers at this moment.. if they do accept, I think it's for pooling only especially for the ERVP.. If you want to inquire try to go to their office at PGH. They don't shoulder food and transportation.. I only voluntered for 100 plus hours for the level 1 of the ER volunteer's program since this is the only required hours before proceeding to another level.. after that I was already hired.. even if I liked to pursuit level 2, I couldn't since I am too tired to volunteer.. this volunteer programs is no way related to the hiring process unlike in other hospitals in which their volunteer program could be considered as a stepping stone

Thanks Gambutrol! For your time in answering my questions. Hope I can find one. Whew! I will be not hopeless. Just pray and pray and try my luck. Godbless

I think the one in Angeles is currently hiring. The hospital's name is Sacred Heart Medical Center, i think.

You should have exceptional credentials to get hired, or the other route, you should know someone, powerful enough - you know what i mean.

The other hospital in Olongapo is our sister hospital. Gossips roaming says that it will operate this October but I don't know if thats true. I haven't see the current status of the hospital yet.

Here's their ancient website:

I hope they could update the site.

hi pofi!

i am from olongapo the name of the hospital that is being constructed here is our lady of lourdes international medical center. is this the hospital your pertaining to? by the looks of it, it won't be finished by october.

about the hospital in angeles, where is it located? i'm familiar with AUFMC, so if you would please give me directions going to the new hospital you are talking about and the requirements..please..:wink2:

actually there is another older hospital here in olongapo. i submitted my application last june and i was told that the next examination may be conducted this coming september. volunteer nurse only no salary. according to gossips also the nurse volunteer will only be a staff nurse if a position is vacant and of course the one that will be hired is the one on top of the very long waiting list, so there is no assurrance that in 6 months time you'll be paid but you'll be able to get a certificate at the end of every three months.i'm really looking for other hospitals that are really hiring and might provide a salary aside from experience..:wink2:

I think they will begin operation next month.. They already pulled out some of our nurses and orderlies to work there. But I'm not really sure when they will start. Anyway you should try to inquire there or here if you want to.

Regarding the other hospital in Angeles, I don't have any idea about it. I think they are already close for any nurses. Anyway, you will pass by the hospital if you'll be coming from San Fernando. You won't miss it. San Fernando and Angeles only have 1 main road. It's so unlikely for you to get lost.

Gudluck..

thanks! i'll just apply here in olongapo. :)

The ERVP of PGH is for nursing and non-nursing students/graduates. This means that this is not a nursing volunteer program. I was once a volunteer at the ER of PGH (now a regular staff at the same hospital). They continuously pool volunteers but due to the increase flow of volunteers I think they have momentarily freezed accepting volunteers already (not sure though). The volunteer program at PGH is good but it is only for 100 hours before being elevated to another level. I was supposed to be a level 2 volunteer already but I stopped since I am already employed by the same institution.. hehe.. Being a volunteer at Pahinungod does not entail doing nursing jobs, although if you befriend the staff and tell them that you're a registered nurse already then they might reconsider (like what happened to me back in 2006). Anyways, the title of the thread is hiring nurses in the Philippines so I think it's out of topic.

do you know the requirements for the erpv? thank you
