Hiring nurses in Philippines

Hi guys! I need help. I am a new registered nurse. Has anyone know a hospital that is hiring for staff nurse or a hospital that has training for new graduate nurses this feb or march 2008? I have inquired in so many hospitals but I had a hard time looking for one. Thank you very much. :balloons:

hi. i recenlty got a job offer at convergys as well, but then i turned down the job coz i was thinking of starting early with my nursing career. i want to experience and earn at the same time, and know for sure if i want to be a nurse hehe. anyway do u think it would be ok if i sent my application requirements to st lukes hospital through LBC? did you submit elsewhere? im not familiar with other tertiary hospitals in metro

helo. anyone here a passer of NLE last 2008? have u landed on a job yet? i am a newly registered nurse and got no experience. my easiest way to geting a volunteer work is at a provincial hospital but id rather undergo training in a good tertiary hospital, and hopefully become a staff after the training.. can u suggest hospitals where i can submit my resume to? i have thot of MMC and St lukes.. i am willing to spend for training just as long as im assured of a job once training is done.

Hi VixenRN! Im a June 2008 passer and I got a job as a company nurse at SM by November 08. Unfortunately, my employment status is only casual and my contract will expire two days from now. There's a non-nursing job I accepted, eco-tourism related. Much as I want to work as a nurse, there's scarcity of job openings and I can't afford to do volunteer work or unpaid training. Where are you from? A friend of a co-worker said that her friend got accepted at St. Luke's as a nurse trainee and she only applied online.

hi wahine888. really? but im pretty sure they started training early this month (thats what i heard form a friend), am still hopeful though that their open to accept new trainees soon. i checked st lukes website and the page where they post career opportunities is under construcution, so desperate as i am, im planning to send my resume and application form through LBC since they posted the HR office address. wow company nurse huh? thats a pretty laid back type of nursing job ryt? wat do u usually do? does it enhance your nursig skills though?

VixenRN, I don't know if I'll regret my job at Convergys or not. Because I got the money for my Masteral tuition fees, nursing books (I wanted to buy) and Nursing DVDs by working there. And of course, money for my extracuriccular activities (shopping, malling) .XD The one thing I'll regret prolly was the nursing experience I missed on the past 2 years. awwww.

I went there (at St. Luke's ) personally. If you want to go there.... Ride a jeep going to Cubao. After that, ride another jeep going to E.Rodriguez then you can request for the driver to drop you at St. Luke's. I'm not sure if we can just send the application through LBC though. Let's confirm it with the rest of the peeps here.

By the way, here's the list of requirements, if it helps you any.

Resume (including mobile number, email, school and year graduated, experience and skills) , 2x2 picture, TOR, General weighted average, board rating, valid PRD card.

Then we can pass it on Annex 2, 5th floor. (st. Luke's QC branch)

When I passed it (which was about approximately 3 weeks ago), I have to squeeze in my brown envelope into the drop box, because the box for nursing applicants is already jampacked.

Upto now, I haven't got a call yet. So I plan on going there this week just to follow up on my application. If they inform me that I'm for manpower pooling purposes, I'll just volunteer at a hospital in Laguna this June so that I'll be able to practice nursing skills, etc, while waiting for a chance to work there and for other hospitals to allow hiring. Hopefully it works. Because I'll go from a 18 k salary to a zero.

Go, go, go nurses.

VixenRN, when I did hospital-hopping last April. One of the hospitals I inquired if they're hiring applicants, was San Juan De Dios (which was one of our affiliate hospitals back in college), HR said they stopped hiring but "tentatively" may resume accepting applicants this June. *crossing fingers* It's still a 50-50. But if I meet my Management professor in Masteral (who's one of the board of directors there), I'll confirm it with him. Then I'll keep you posted.

I'm also a newly registered nurse. It's tough to find nursing jobs these days so I guess I'll just have to go volunteering. Can anyone help me find nurse volunteer jobs in Cagayan de Oro City? I already tried applying but it seemed even volunteer jobs were difficult to find.

very laid back but SM is a big and stable company so the pay is really good. I did pre-employment physical examination, first aid treatment of injuries, worked with the company physician, acted as a "therapist" to the stressed-out employees. sadly, my contract expired yesterday and I am now in between jobs. i'm sure it enhanced my nursing skills somehow..compared to what I can learn by just applying and appliying and applying in hospitals and never get hired..LOL

same here, im into occupational health. my experince in EMS helped. but unlike yours, the pay is not tha good coz im not directly hired,im connected with a certain agency. it's laid back but i can still practice my skill. i have time review my notes and do job hunting in the morning since im working at night. i also have time to attend trainings, seminars, short courses at my own expnense. now im planning to sign up as a volunteer at PGH ER. it's great coz i don't have to leave my job. i can work and earn as a company RN and at the same time practice and improve my skills in the emergency setting...

At least you've learned a lot though you're working as a company nurse.. still worth it compared to nurses nowadays who are unemployed.. Like me! LOL! haha!!

The ERVP of PGH is for nursing and non-nursing students/graduates. This means that this is not a nursing volunteer program. I was once a volunteer at the ER of PGH (now a regular staff at the same hospital). They continuously pool volunteers but due to the increase flow of volunteers I think they have momentarily freezed accepting volunteers already (not sure though). The volunteer program at PGH is good but it is only for 100 hours before being elevated to another level. I was supposed to be a level 2 volunteer already but I stopped since I am already employed by the same institution.. hehe.. Being a volunteer at Pahinungod does not entail doing nursing jobs, although if you befriend the staff and tell them that you're a registered nurse already then they might reconsider (like what happened to me back in 2006). Anyways, the title of the thread is hiring nurses in the Philippines so I think it's out of topic.

yep! exactly! hehe finally, someone from the ervp program. :-) i wanted to volunteer to enhance my er skills and they told me they also deploy volunteers to thier EMS during the 3rd level,it's also good coz i may have the chance to practice my emt skills w/c is already quite rusty.hehe

You should rephrase your subject head, others have mistaken your title as "Hiring Nurses in the Philippines" as an invitation for application and yet you were trying to ask for a vacant position in the hospital in the Philippines. Please present your purpose clearly. Thank you.
