Hi guys! I need help. I am a new registered nurse. Has anyone know a hospital that is hiring for staff nurse or a hospital that has training for new graduate nurses this feb or march 2008? I have inquired in so many hospitals but I had a hard time looking for one. Thank you very much. :balloons:
can i be a hospital trainee even without a license yet?
From what I know, you will not be accepted as trainee without a license. It would be too risky to hire someone without a license, they'll prefer someone who has it. And I haven't heard hospitals who hires unlicense trainee. And the mere fact that there are already lots of licensed nurses who can't even accepted as trainee, what more an unlicense, right?
Currrent number enrolled in schools there has now topped the 950,000 mark. Even with about 45% passing of the NLE, and someone actually getting thru their program in the first place; it is going to be almost impossible to get hired anywhere. There just are not that many positions in your country for them and without experience they are going to find it very hard to get to another country to work.
The US has not increased the number of visas that it issues per year and with more and more finishing, it is going to be that much more difficult to even find a job anyplace.
Best of luck in finding a job and remember that most places do not consider training or volunteer programs as actual work experience, and also going to another country to work as a caregiver does not count as experience as well.
That is the same as a nursing home and does not the same procedures that are done there as in a hospital so it will be hard to get petitioned now with that experience if you wish to work in a hospital in the US.
Even American nurses that go to LTC, long term care, as we call it here, have trouble in getting jobs afterwards in hospitals. And they trained here and do not have any immigration issues to deal with.
And is the job in the role of the RN or as a caregiver?
I'm pertaining working in Canada in their LTC facility. Registered Nurses will have be in charge in the team consist of a Licensed practical Nurse and a Caregiver. So the Registered Nurses mainly does is assess the patient if it needs check up with a doctor and all other duties are taken by the LPN's and the Caregivers.
