I have decided to start a thread for HCC future nurses that are applying for class beginning 2015 of spring. I would like us all to be able to share and relate to one another, while experiencing this exciting moment. I know it may seem a little early but better sooner then later. This will be my last semester before I can apply to the program. I am registered to take micro with lab and humanities fall 2014. I will be able to submit my application in right after my grades are posted. The deadline for the 2015 spring class is June 1st if I am not mistaken. How is everyone else holding up?
Yes! I believe that is the one. It seems like its basically the same course as for Healthcare professionals just with a student discount. I tried to register online but the website was being weird. I will try again later.
Ok thank you! I will try to register for 10/6(mon) at DM. I hate it to be that late(I wanna say good night to kids?), but DM is the closest for me:)
Comgrats to all those that got in! I graduated last December from HCC DM. To whom ever asked about the professors, all the ones I had were great and always helpful so don't stress that.
I remember being where you all are..it was so exciting to get accepted. Congrats again..you'll be in great hands :)

Hey Mandy, thank you for commenting. How was the NCLEX and have you found employment easily? Any advice for us new nursing students?
If you get the max pell grant I believe a semesters worth is enough to cover tuition. But its not enough to cover books and lab fees, supplies, etc.
Does anyone know if you didn't use pell grant for fall if the entire amount could be applied towards spring?! instead of just half per usual?!?!
Wow everyone sounds like knows about a student loan. I couldn't get any for pre-reqs because i already have a BS(so I was told...) Does anyone know how it works? I have 167 credits from Japanese college plus pre-reqs and USF pre-reqs. I've heard there is a maximum credits where you could be qualified to get a loan or not...

Yes I would also like to learn, because I took the semester off this fall

The amount of full pel grant is split in semesters. If u qualify for 5,000.00 and attend 1 semester vs 2 then u will get 2,500.00. Now keep in mind thats if you take 12 credits. But if u take 6 credits. The government cuts that 2,500.00 in half AGAIN. So it depents how many hours u get registered. Lets also say u go full time 12 credits, and u get 2,500.00 but u didnt use it all and had 700$ left from that semester, well that money is urs to spend how u want. U can use ur left over financial aid. Does this help you?
Added: if u go to school 1 semester vs 2 for that financial year, then u get only one semester not both worth.
