I have decided to start a thread for HCC future nurses that are applying for class beginning 2015 of spring. I would like us all to be able to share and relate to one another, while experiencing this exciting moment. I know it may seem a little early but better sooner then later. This will be my last semester before I can apply to the program. I am registered to take micro with lab and humanities fall 2014. I will be able to submit my application in right after my grades are posted. The deadline for the 2015 spring class is June 1st if I am not mistaken. How is everyone else holding up?

You're welcome! Good question. I'm fairly new at this too. I'm not quite sure how many, but I do talk to various people on there. Some are from the previous semester just like I am filling you in. No one told me about this site..I actually found it on my own, by searching for HCC Fall Nursing program.

thanks for starting this thread! great information. i have gone through the pain of completing all prereq's and submitted my application a couple of weeks ago. very nerve wracking especially when you have NO clue what to expect! a lot of my questions have been answered through reading ALL the posts! keeping my fingers crossed for everyone:) btw, is there anything online to check the status of our application?

Nope and they don't tell you anything. I sent the same info you are anxious about and this is what I got in return. So you just have to sit back and let it take its course.

We understand that you are anxious to know about your Nursing Basic Program Application. However, due to the number of applications being submitted, we ask that you allow us 12 – 15 weeks from the application deadline date to process and official communications be sent. After the Health Sciences Admissions staff complete the processing and evaluation of all the applications, the Health Sciences Admissions Committee will meet and then official status letters will be send by U.S. Mail informing the students of their status into the Program.

Oh boy! What a way to help someone prepare;)

Yeah tell me about it! I stalk the mailman everyday hoping that I will get something in the mail soon.

I'm tired of waiting for something to happen lol. This waiting isnt just annoying but it's boring. I should have taken this summer class to occupy my time. Thank God I signed up for 12 credits for fall. I would drive myself crazy. I'm really hoping when time comes for orientation that it won't over lap my classes. If it does I hope my teachers don't penalize me.

I have joined the waiting game. I dropped off my application today. Good luck to us all

Oh yeah I didn't even think about that! One or two lectures should not affect the grades. Hopefully there is no quiz or exam on those days...

Orientation will be sometime around November 12-14. 2 days, 7:30ish-4pm.

(That's a date estimate based on how it was for the Spring 2013 group)

I want to jump in say not to leave anything out as far as being honest about all past schools and transcripts. I went and spoke to a nursing adviser and was told that if we didn't include past school information and they later found out, they could be throw you out of the program for breaking an honesty policy. Not to scare you, but just to give you a heads up. It would be really sad for something like that to happen while you're in the program!!!

Did we need to include a copy of the CPR certification in the application? I didn't because mine will expire in Feb 2015, and I need to retake it anyways...thanks!

It does say The copy of CPR certification, so I guess I have to send it in.. Ha! Hopefully I didn't forget anything else?
