I have decided to start a thread for HCC future nurses that are applying for class beginning 2015 of spring. I would like us all to be able to share and relate to one another, while experiencing this exciting moment. I know it may seem a little early but better sooner then later. This will be my last semester before I can apply to the program. I am registered to take micro with lab and humanities fall 2014. I will be able to submit my application in right after my grades are posted. The deadline for the 2015 spring class is June 1st if I am not mistaken. How is everyone else holding up?

Hello everyone sorry for my absence, I had surgery Wednesday do I have been off and on.. I silk have been unsuccessful in adding the pole. Does anyone know how I can go about it. I grief editing my original post and no luck. Maybe I have to sign on to a computer.

Smkelly, that's awesome, NP is the way to go. Ill be finishing my AA while in the program during the summers. . Even taking speech during a semester since it's so easy. I will be dropping my packet off Wednesday with my first pick being dm afternoons 2nd choice dm morning 3rd Southshore. My GPA is 3.71 here is to getting 1st choice > cheers, fingers crossed!

Sounds awesome! I'm doing most of my AA and usf prereqs this Summer and fall, and then taking the last few during the Nursing summers. I think my first 3 picks are going to be DM mornings, afternoons, then nights and weekends. I'm applying with a 3.57 sadly because I screwed up in micro a few semesters ago. I really hope I get my first choice though too!

Do you know much about what it takes to get into the usf NP Program? I'm so worried that my C in micro is going to ruin my life! Haha

A long road yes @ihopeigetit but we will make it happen. Just stay positive and focused... and as for class in summers @smkelly ill be doing the same. Im taking nutrition and health, life span both online. And chemistry and statistics on campus this coming fall. Im having a hard time picking a teacher tho. Because my work schedule.

Im in pain still but im sticking to Tylenol every 6 hrs if needed. I was prescribed oxy but I dont like how it makes me feel.

Has anyone started shopping stethoscopes and stuff yet?

I know the best brand is supposed to be Littmann. I stumbled onto another brand Ultrascope, and they are super cute. But IDK if they are any good.

^_^ Can't wait till everything is official, we are in, and can buy are stuff!

I would buy it from where they tell u to get the scrubs from. They usually have it cheaper.! ?

Hey guys, I requested two transcripts- one to put with the application and one for myself. The one for myself I opened and it says my overall gpa is a 3.57, but then it says my AS and my AA gpa is a 3.5,

I'm just confused, does anyone know what this means? When the Nursing board looks at my transcript will then go by the AS gpa? Because when I calculate my prereq classes that also is a 3.57 so I'm worried over here lol

I believe they would only look at your overall GPA as a tie breaker. You only need to calculate your prerequisite GPA.

I believe Gradius is good at calculating the GPA. Ask him to check it out.

Ditto. Overall is a tie breaker. The GPA you need to most worry about is Pre-Req
