Hello all,
I wanted to start a thread for those applying to HCC's Spring 2014 nursing program. I am a stay at home mom. I know its early but I wanted to get as much info as possible. The deadline isn't until 6/1. I'm a current HCC student. My pre-req GPA is 3.57 (all A's 1 B and 1 C ), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program.
What is everyone elses GPA? I heard its lower for the Spring.
I totally hear you. Mine were either too dark (pressing too hard) or she couldn't make out the print. I had to literally hold my fingers back and do some form of contortion act to get them to roll. The real kicker was she told me that if the agency couldn't "read" the prints after submission, they would have to re-do them again -- for $50! I'm really hoping that doesn't happen.
WHAT??? That's crazy,it's her job to make sure they are correct!

Nothing new, but I just feel like sharing this with you guys; I'm really concerned about time management here..

Thanks for the link. I was just thinking about getting a book on Critical Thinking to help prepare for whats to come soon. I've been told by some nursing students that understanding and using "Critical Thinking" is a must in nursing school

Thanks Cindy. I'll have to check that out.
You're taking Stats now too? Which campus?
I'm taking STATS online, let me tell you, I need 2 IBUPROFEN at the begining of my study sesion, and 2 more when I finish
really, this is the most frustrating class that I EVER have, and I'm 40 y.o.
DAMN..
Oh, ok. I'm glad I didn't take it online. I heard it can be more difficult that way.
Hang in there. Hey...at least it wasn't a pre-req!

I know, I guess it is harder this way, but since I'm having very difficult times right now (my mom just had a toe amputated, etc, etc) I prefer that option so I can stay at home with her

I think I've said this a few times on here, but I absolutely hated Statistics with every single bone in my body. It was the worst class I've taken through two academic careers and I still have nightmares about it. If I had to re-take that class (or something similar), I would definitely need some form of prescription to help me through it.
However, I will say that CHM-1032 is quickly approaching that distinction as well. I can't tell if its the material or how it is being presented.
