Hello all,

I thought I would start a thread for those of us applying to HCC's Spring 2013 nursing program. I am a Veterinary Technician/stay at home mom. I'm gathering everything for my application and hoping to drop it off at HCC soon. The deadline isn't until 6/1 but they recommend turning it in at least 30 days in advance. I'm a current HCC student. I was planning on applying for Fall this year, but am now expecting a little girl to arrive in July so spring it is! My pre-req GPA is 3.86 (all A's and 1 B), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program for DM evening classes. Good luck to all!

Rachanee

Gabby92 I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Actually, I will be keeping my fingers crossed for all of. Keep in mind even if the first letter is not an acceptance letter, anything could happen between now and January.

I sure hope our letters get here soon as I don't know how much more my stomach can take. I don't have a plan B, and I am getting nervous about putting all my eggs in one basket.

Just wondering, is anyone in days at DM or Ybor now?

Inspired by KKJA8855's earlier comment of...

"Let's all just try to relax and enjoy this little bit of time we have left before the real chaos starts!"

Random advance-notice OT question for all... would anyone be down for some leisure activities in one of the weeks following Orientation?

By leisure of course I mean as I've mentioned here more than once, I live in Orlando at the moment and we might not have time for leisure come January. Anyway I have two jobs ATM. Guess who one of them is for?

For example:

La Nouba | Orlando show at Walt Disney World Resort | Cirque du Soleil

That is one of several possible ideas.

Just curious. TIA for any interest.

Count me in. I am looking forward to getting to meet everyone.

Cool, both to you, Rachanee, and anyone else interested. I suggested Cirque as an example because I've been meaning to go to Cirque again, it's been a few years and I hear they've added a new act since I last went... It is worth EVERY dollar but in the Fall I can bring 3 people with me for much less than regular price. We get mighty fine discounts both to Cirque, the water parks, and the theme parks of course. And I can bring 3 with me too.

So... it was just a thought. Granted it would require anyone interested to come to Orlando, however my discounts could make it worth your while. Perhaps we could "make a day/night of it."

Just something to ponder as Orientation approaches. ^_^

I spend so much time looking out the window at the mailbox, my husband wants to know if our next child is going to look like the mailman.

I spoke with the health science department at DM today. They said the nursing commitee would be meeting this week. So hopefully we will be receiving our letters next week. She did say to give them up til the end of the month to receive them though.

I hope you're right... first paycheck from my new job + acceptance letter all in the same week would be a good week! :D

Did the lady say that the letters might go out next week, or are we just hoping they might go out next week? Sorry to be so particular. I just want to know when I can REALLY start looking! :yeah:

No problem. She just said decisions would be made this week and we should have letters soon. Also, not to be concerned until the end of the month if we haven't received status letters. I imagine if decisions are made this week, they will mail letters next week, fingers crossed.

To piggyback on what Rachanee said above, Jhart13... all you need to do to find out when to look is when you come to this thread and see the first message that says something to the effect of "CHECK YOUR MAILBOXES... I GOT IN!!!"

:) :) :D :D

I wonder why they are later this year than previous years... I guess since we have no choice in the matter all we can do is enjoy our summer, family and shopping!

Thanks Rachanee

Thanks for sharing! At least we know that we answer will be in our mailbox soon!
