Hillsborough Community College RN program fall 2013

Published

Hello,

I plan to attend to HCC's 2013 fall evening nursing program (applying in Jan). I am curious to see what people people's GPA is going in. I hear spring's is lower than fall's.

Thanks!

Im PC days no emails in hawkmail or blackboard and my class only shows in webadvisor

I haven't heard anything. I am checking hawkmail, and looking on Blackboard to see if the class is scheduled, and for messages...not sure which she will use to contact us. I'm not even scheduled for the class on Blackboard...I am still scheduled on WebAdvisor. Are you or is anyone else on PC days scheduled on Blackboard for NP1?

None of my classes are showing on Blackboard - I am signed up for a (supposed to be) super easy online class so I'm full-time, just this semester. I am still registered on WebAdvisor though, so I'm not really sure what's going on.

Did anybody fill an appeal for financial?...any anwswer

Are you changing the semester from spring to fall '13?

On Blackboard? Blackboard is showing all my classes that have ever scheduled on there (bb), from Spring 2012 to Spring 2013. But, nothing for Nursing. Where do you change the semester?

My FA advisor looked at my academic record and then told me to hold onto the pprwk, as it shouldn't be necessary to actually file the appeal at this time. She said that all nursing students end up in this situation (having to file an appeal) before they are actually scheduled for the nursing course. If you haven't heard anything, I would go to FA and have them look into it.

Those of you that purchased the HCC nursing books bundle - is the 2013 Clinical calculations with applications to general and specialty areas, 7th edition - part of that pack?? PC nights professor advised us to learn medication administration and it is though self-study. I need to know if this will be separate from the bundle of books purchased though HCC bookstore. I want to get my study on !

I went to Plant City campus today and bought the book bundle and 2 patches for the unifrom. $589

My classes are still not in Bloackboard and I have not heard from the instructor.

If you did receive an email could please post the information as to what we should be reading before class? Those of us still waiting in the dark would really appreciate it! :)

As per insurance, the requirement is listed in the Health Sciences manual. It says that some clinical sites may require proof. I wonder if we are allowed to purchase a medical discount plan instead of full insurance. They tend to cost much less. Starting in October the government insurace plans will become available for purchase effective Jan-14: if you qualify for Pell you will be able to purchase insurance at a discounted rate, but that is not going to help in August.

All of the bboks in the bundle are listed on that sheet they gave us at orientation. YES Clinical Calculations is one of them.

I am also PC days, and haven't received anything yet from our instructor. I looked at the Nursing Student Manual, but I didn't see what you read about the health insurance...I think I am looking in the wrong place. Can you tell me what you are looking at? (Where it is located, and the title of the doc?) I am interested in a med discount plan that covers emergency and hospitalization (those are the specifics that were mentioned in orientation). The lowest plan I have found is $98 a month...the deductible is pretty high...I would end up paying out of pocket for common treatment. Have you gotten a quote and if so, who did you contact? And, where can I get more info on the gov't insurance plan for pell grant qualifiers? Sorry to ask so many questions...LOL...I have been stressing over this insurance thing.
