Hillsborough Community College RN program fall 2013

I plan to attend to HCC's 2013 fall evening nursing program (applying in Jan). I am curious to see what people people's GPA is going in. I hear spring's is lower than fall's.

I went to the VA to do my shots and they told they are not doing flu shots because it's not the season for them, they won't be back in stock until September. Anyone else have that issue?

Personally, I am doing the refusal form for now - until the new shots come out. Remember from Micro that every year they come out with a new shot because of resistance. It was recommended that we wait because the hospitals will want the newest shot. Getting it now would almost be a waste of money.

At orientation she told us to upload the refusal, get the shot in Aug/Sept when they come out, and then upload the document.

Thanks for that info. It made sense to wait until September but I couldn't recall what they told us about that in orientation. Good thing for this forum : )

Finally got my school immunz. records. Apparently back in the early 80's the MMR requirement was only one dose, so I will have to get a booster. If you are over 30 and hoping that your school records will clear you for the MMR; it probably won't.

I recently discovered this myself...I thought I was good with the MMR also, but it looks like I'm not. More money! :banghead:

I still haven't gotten any word from the instructor regarding clinical choices. Has anyone else?

I received an email today!! I am PC nights - choice between TGH, FloridaHosp/Carrollwood, and Sun City. I picked TGH for my first choice (that is whereI wanted to go to begin with!)... :nurse: Can't wait!!

Also, I noticed that my class is no longer showing up on Blackboard. Has anyone else checked Blackboard to find the same issue?

Campus cruiser/blackboard email. It was from our class teacher, so I would imagine it's however proactive the specific teachers are. She also gave us a jump on the first few weeks of class with reading materials about drug calcs and conversions, etc...
