Hillsborough Community College RN program fall 2013

I plan to attend to HCC's 2013 fall evening nursing program (applying in Jan). I am curious to see what people people's GPA is going in. I hear spring's is lower than fall's.

@Gradius- Thank you so much for the quick reply, I had no choice but to turn in my application with an unofficial copy since the last of my pre-requisite was completed this fall semester, I would have to wait forever for the HCC to mail me the official copy. Hopefully that was good enough, I did attach official transcript from SPC where I took my other pre-requisites. IF you don't mind me asking, are you in the HCC nursing program now? and is it quite difficult??

No, I was an applicant to the Spring 2013 class. Was denied due to a non-GPA issue (turns out that the denial helped me out actually due to several other factors of new consideration). I'll be applying to the Fall 2013 class though since I'm able to fix the prior denial reason this time.

@Gradius- What other reasons can they have for not letting you in the program? I saw on ''my documents'' that they did receive the 53$, Nursing application, and consent form but it states that they have Not received my HCC application, High school transcript and my Nursing Pre-reqs. Is this normal?

I was denied since they didn't receive all required documentation, let's just say that. This cycle I'll be applying to both HCC, as well as 3 ABSN programs within FL. HCC will be my fallback if I don't get into an ABSN program somewhere, I'm thinking. But we shall see, trying to keep all my options open since before, HCC for Spring 2013 was the only school I applied to.

And Nina not to worry, same thing happened with me. Our Spring deadline was June 1. I want to say the 3 "received" items you mentioned there were marked received before June even ended; everything else showed up in August. I want to say I got my decision letter 9/17.

So if you want to mirror that for the Fall group, everything else probably won't show up until April, with acceptance/denial letters going out in May 2013 or so if I had to guess. Look at the Fall 2012 thread if you want to get specific on dates.

If you, or anyone else, have any other questions I can answer based on my prior experience in applying, feel free to ask. :)

Wow, I can't believe it takes that long for them to get all the info together. I think it is crazy I won't get a letter until May. I have recently applied and I see they received my check and app also. I guess I should stop watching for others to arrive in the received area. Thanks for all the information, it helps to keep me from stressing about where everything is.

I am submitting my fall 2013 application this week, 12/20/2012. I am super excited, as well as, nervous :nailbiting:. I finished my pre-requisites with a 3.6. Any chance I'll make it? Does anyone know the current average?

As long as you have over 3.5 you should be fine.

just put in my application last week at the dm campus im goin in with a 3.6 gpa which im hoping will be good enough, ive been checking everyday on hawknet to see if they have received my app but nothingg! does anyone know where to look to see if they received it? i may be looking in the wrong place.. besides that im super excited to get my nursing career started =) going to wait 'patiently' for that acceptance letter lol good luck to all of you!

Alismami, I turned in my app on Dec 12 and all of documents have shown up as received. In webadvisor, go into my documents. Everything is listed there. The school is closed from the Dec 19-Jan 2, so it may not show up until after the holidays. Also in Progress toward degree they it will show up as Applicant ADN. I'm excited too, wish it didn't take so long to find out. Good luck to everybody!!!

I turned in my application 12/12/12, for Fall 2013, my GPA is 3.8....fingers crossed, and many many prayers :)

I agree, from what I hear anything over a 3.6 :)
