Hillsborough Community College RN program fall 2013

U.S.A. Florida

Hello,

I plan to attend to HCC's 2013 fall evening nursing program (applying in Jan). I am curious to see what people people's GPA is going in. I hear spring's is lower than fall's.

Thanks!

hi everyone! I just talked with an advisor at HCC and they said the lowest they let in was a 3.3-3.5 last fall, but that it does change by the rate of applicants. I was told not to worry too much about my GPA (3.57). But I think I would be an alternate, time will tell! good luck to everyone!

Was that 3.3-3.5 GPA as an alternate? Or was that the lowest GPA that was received a seat?

I was wondering the same thing because those sound like alternate ranges. It would be great if that was overall cutoff : ) when you look at the posts from fall 2012 they were saying 3.7 was cutoff but I don't know how accurate that info is since it wasn't coming directly from the school. Ugh! Who came up with a 3 month wait we are supposed to be pro health not encourage anxiety and panic attacks lol

I believe his words were "let in", but he was not specific as to alternates or not. But I was making the assumption when he said it, that it was alternates let in, because of reading last years posts and also was thinking it was people who are employed by Baycare(St. Josephs,John Know Village, etc.) who get saved seats. I was reading last years posts and quite a few alternates with 3.56 got in towards May. That is going to be a longer wait for me to find out! I know I may possibly be an alternate, but my GPA is not near to the 3.7 :( to get in the first round!

I agree with the having to wait!! I will probably have to wait until they start filling alternate seats, which was May, last year! I think its crazy how long it takes them, but at the same time there are probably 400-500 applicants (guesstimation). I also have heard that it is harder to get into than USF's, but not sure about that! I will be applying for PHCC too and I dont have to turn in my application till the end of Spring semester and they tell you in late June. Just wish the process wasn't stretched out so much!

Hi all! I hope you don't mind me joining this thread. I have no where else to go! I've applied to HCC Fall 2013 Radiation Therapy and Radiograpy program. So I'm also playing the waiting game. Just needed a place to keep the momentum going while try to avoid anxiety! I'm also a little nervous about my GPA I had all A's for my prereqs until I took College Alegbra which was a stinky C...Anywhoo it agonizing waiting for an answer!

Good Luck and Welcome! I'm sure you will get in, that's still a pretty decent GPA

Ok. I have a question. It has been two weeks and a day since submitted my application and according to the blue memo hanging on the door that we were suppose to take telling us basically not to bug them about our status and to wait 8-12 weeks that we could check on the progress of our application by checking under "my documents" in webadvisor. It also says that each document will be marked as "not received" until it has been reviewed by the health science team. However, my documents do not show anything has been received....its empty. Is this normal? Does anyone else have their documents at least listed yet? I mean, how do I know they actually have it and it didn't get stuck in the mail slot (my envelop was pretty big and had to be gently shoved into the slot, lol) or it didn't fall behind somebodies desk and needs rescueing? However, I do not want to be the over paranoid student bugging them. I could wait calmly and patiently probably if I knew they at least had it.

Turned mine in on the 15 and still nothing showing up under my documents yet either, but they did cash my check pretty quick.

Hey Lady.... I was wondering if we don't get accepted for the fall, do we have to reapply for the spring?..... reading these post have me a little worried :(

I'm glad you posted this because I'm stressing the same thing. I keep checking my documents too and every time... nothing! I just thought I'd let you know that you aren't the only one.

I turned my application in on Dec. 15th and everything was posted as received on the first day back from the Winter break. I think they review applications in order they are received. At least that is the impression I got from the older threads. When they cash your check, your golden! I was stressing out looking every day knowing the school was closed!
