Hillsborough Community College RN program fall 2013

Published

Hello,

I plan to attend to HCC's 2013 fall evening nursing program (applying in Jan). I am curious to see what people people's GPA is going in. I hear spring's is lower than fall's.

Thanks!

Thank you, La1717! I got ahold of someone on the phone and they told me to email healthsciences and they should get back to me within a day or two. She also told me it took approximately 5-7 days to process.

And I checked my account last night.

I went ahead and got fingerprinted yesterday. I went around 2:00 and it literally took 5 minutes to do because there were no lines. Parking was a hassle for me though.

I have placed a call to HCC, the Spring application deadline is approaching, and what do you do if you are waiting on your alternate seat? I am not losing hope for the fall, but I would like to apply for Spring if not admitted to the fall. I talked to someone who was not sure if reapplying would take you out of fall selection all together so I am waiting for someone at HCC to reply or call me back. She also said they accept alternates up to a week before school starts and said be hopeful! Just curious if anyone has heard what to do in this situation? Like CootieQueen, I have an AA in Biology from HCC but I am not sure that HCC adds any weight to the application for that. I do know the waiting is for the birds:)

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your inquiry. Official letters were mailed out to Alternates more than a week ago. Depending on how many of those students decline their seats, we will know if we more seat to offer. We cannot give you any assurance that more letters will be sent, just have faith and wait.

Best of luck,

Don’t lose faith, some people will decline their alternate seat and others will not like their campus assignment! So, Chin up you probably still have a good chance

I got the same reply today. Thanks to all who replied waiting patiently is easier said then done:)

If they would hurry up and send out campus assignments, more alternate spots would open. ~ sigh

I talked to my friend who is in the HCC Fall nursing program 2012. She said 2 people got accepted the 2nd week of school. She said some people wont show up for the orientation, so then some alternates gets seats and some people don't show up at all for the first couple days so more alternates get in, and then some people realize the 1st week of class that this isn't for them and drop out, then some more letters get sent out. So there is still lots and lots of hope for us alternates!!!! Good luck to us all and hope to see all of you soon in Fall 2013 :D Keep your chin up! Keep positive thoughts, and positive things will happen!!

sm42, please let me know what they say. I never thought about if I apply for spring if ill get kicked out of my alternate seat for fall and now im a little worried.

They did not say in the email either way, but that is what the lady on the phone at HCC said may happen although she couldn't say either way for sure. She then referred me to a person who would know, and I left a message. I still have no answer. I also emailed Health Science Dept I got the same generic reply posted before. If I find out I will let you know too:)

Maybe this will be the week we find out our campus assignment. I can hope, right?

What campus is everyone looking for. I am hoping for SouthShore. Does anyone know which hospitals are used for clinicals?

I am hoping for PC days...I have no idea which hospitals are assigned to each campus. There may be multiple hospitals for a single campus. I live in Lakeland, and would like to do clinicals at LRMC, but I have no idea if they are on the list for HCC. Its only one day a week, so Tampa or Brandon wouldn't be a big deal.
