Hillsborough Community College Nursing Program Application Spring 2022

Published

Hey everyone!

This post is for the Spring 2022 Nursing program at HCC. I applied for the Fall and was not accepted so trying again for Spring!

GPA was calculated as 3.28

Fall’s cutoff GPA was 3.52 which seems incredibly low for that semester so here’s to hoping Spring is even lower! Good luck!!

Nope, I also haven’t heard anything only the invoice but that was it, I hope we at least get a shipping confirmation or something cause I would like to know when it’s delivered so I can make sure to grab it.

I just called, and aside from the rude lady I spoke with, she transferred me to a guy named Pat and he said they are at embroidery now and will be back to the store shortly(didn’t specify). And then he’ll send them out, and will send an email with tracking information.

Do you guys mind sharing what website you used to calculate the prerequisites GPA? Thank you in advance!

I used this one!

Just remember, they take points off when you’ve had to retake a class!

I just got my drug screening date today. Has anyone else gotten theirs yet? If so, which option is marked on the referral sheet? For mine, the HCC Health Sciences option is marked, not the nursing option. Just wanted to check if that was an error on their part or if everyone else has the same.

Same. I was confused by that.

Mine is the same as well. I thought that was weird.

The drug screen is correct. Your future ones in the program will also be like that. It’s just for billing purposes so that you are responsible for paying for the screen, rather than HCC. ?

I’m in the same boat! Can’t decide for the life of me what shoe to buy. I’m pretty sure as long as they are leather/leather-like and not mesh, not canvas type shoes nor colored they should be fine. I asked during orientation if new balance type sneakers are fine and they said yes.

I have looked on about every nursing forum possible and alot of people recommended asics, danskos, new balance, skechers, nike air maxs, reeboks, nurse mates, hokas, brooks, cloves and many other brands. Some are pricier, but most of those have white, leather-type shoes that fit the program requirements and are supposed to be comfy.

Myself and another girl in my class wore these throughout the whole program. I tried the Reebok Classic and found them way too uncomfortable; these were way more comfy for me. They are also on sale right now, not pricey at all. In class I wore white vans, but the shoes I linked are what I wore to clinical, lab, and sims. Hope this is helpful.

Thank you so much, they’re super affordable! I Don’t imagine they’re super strict with the whole logos on the shoes correct?

Also a question for you, @CMar when exactly do the hospital clinicals start? Is it right away because thats my impression, but I thought we'd do lab clinicals first.
