Is anyone else planning on applying for the Fall 2017 nursing program? I know it is really early, but I am just too excited. I want other people to share my excitement with!! :)
Wow! I just got updates of everything going on.
500 is crazy! push comes to shove I'll take a higher math class next semester, finish my AA and try applying again come fall.
My prerequisites did update today! So that was exciting.
I'd love to join for a drink or 2 depending on if we get in or not.
I'm still hoping and praying we all get in and this crazy 500 number was just given to scare us/as a joke.
OMG..... NOOOOOOOO. I am so sorry girl. And they can not override that requirement since you already have 2 degrees?!Well since the cutoff last cycle was 3.55 for 400 applicants I think maybe the cut-off will be like 3.65 for 500. You still have a chance!
And I am totally down for getting drinks yall! LoL.
I am starting an appeal process to override that (ridiculous) requirement right now. It is just totally unfair....
Is it possible to be conditionally accepted if we do not have all of the courses complete yet? Only class I was not able to take this summer was A and P 2 because the advisors said you cannot take A and P 1 and A and P 2 in the same semester for whatever reason. Also thanks for all the help.
"A person is a person no matter how small"Your GPA is not small (neither is mine - with PHSC, it is 3.8)
The problem is the competition. Everybody in Tampa area has decided to become a nurse!
Exactly right and all of us work so hard on GPA. And everything and we all deserve the seat. I hope we all can get in and follow the dream.
Applicant stats change all the time! Maybe there are more applicants, but who knows what they are bringing to the table--you know? For instance, the program I was in prior had a point system. The year before had a cut off of 84 but the year I applied was 74 (luckily i had an 84, i was sweating bullets). This year i was told it went up again. Also consider those who applied and got accepted into other programs or don't meet the basic criteria (e.g. didnt fill out the application right, didnt take all the required courses.) Probably the bulk of people who were not accepted in the spring are re-applying with same GPAs while some of you bumped yours up. A lot of variables to consider and hopefully they work in everyone's favor.

Oh, I forgot to mention: last cycle they sent an email around 4 days before the actual acceptance/denial letters to basically say that the emails will only be sent to hawkmail adresses. So if you havent already, unless you constantly check hawkmail, make sure you have your preferences set up for forwarding email! That stupid email felt like a cruel joke, lol. We were already so anxious... so at least this time we have some warning! lol
