White watch with a second hand, stethoscope, penlight and scissors (as someone else mentioned) also required.

I heard lots of good things about Danskos. The "Dove" style is popular. I would suggest searching around USF or in Tampa if you want to try them on (then maybe search if you can find them cheaper online!). We will be wearing them for hours on-end every week (I think they're required for lab as well?), so might as well invest in a comfortable pair!LLet us know what you decide on...:)

I heard Dansko is very good, yet so expensive.

About stethoscope, what is the difference between: littmann, single head, dual head, triple head (didn't know they had all these heads!) Acrylic, Cardiology? Which one will fit better for the class? Which brand will be advised to buy?

I know what you mean about the shoes, but I was able to find them for about $70 online, which is comparable to Nikes, but at least you know they'll be white!! Not sure about the stethoscopes.... also had no idea there were so many kinds! Maybe reach out to your professor? I will ask my nurse friends and see what they suggest.

Shoes have to have a closed heel? I ordered some Danskos but I dnt know if that is a closed heel :(

Yes, closed heel is required. Here is the wording out of the uniform policy.

"Clean, closed heel and toe white shoes, leather or leather‑like are to be worn. No canvas shoes are to be worn. No color trim is permitted."

Thanks! Also, for those who have done their CPR class, how long did you have to wait before you received your CPR card?or did you get it at the CPR class?

We got our temp card right after the end of the class. They then send a permanent card in the mail. :)

man! I went to the bookstore thinking that they had the textbook package and they didn't! They have it on the HCC online bookstore website to order but they said they didn't have it at the actual store yet until the first week or second week of August. sigh....I was looking forward to actually getting a head start on reading our textbooks :(

Well, at least I got my name tags. They arrived today
