Hi, I'm new here to the states I came here on K1 visa. I already finished my nursing school in Philippines but I'm not licensed here in states. Is there any Pinay here that can help me find way to study and pass NCLEX so I can become a RN? Thank you.

hi and welcome to the site

There are plenty of threads about this especially in the International forum. You are applying for licensure and need to go to your state board of nursing website and follow rquirements for foreign trained nurse so may require CES from CGFNS before you can sit NCLEX. The process will take you a few months so plenty of time for studying. Also suggest you check out the NCLEX forum which can by found by clicking the student tab at the top of the page

first, you need to find out what is your home state board of nursing requirements for rn licensure. then, if you have specific questions, post it here. other than that you can surf this site and there are tons of answers to similar questions to yours.

Hi welcome to the land of opportunity. i suggest you contact your state board of nursing or you can check their website regarding forms and requirements needed to get eligibility to take the NCLEX. after BON finds your requirements complete, in a couple of months or so they will issue you an eligibility notice and after that you can already register for the exam and have your ATT (authority to test). while processing your requirements and waiting for your ATT it wouldnt hurt if you start reviewing. you can use Saunders and Kaplan books and CDs (which worked for me). that way youll have plenty of time to practice and get yourself ready for the NCLEX. good luck.

Where can I go for review? Is there a review center that you can recommend?

i heard kaplan is a good review center. they have both online and class review. i beleive they have nclexrn review for foreign grads for about $600.00 for 4 months, ( at least that's the last years price that i know). other than that, i heard ncbsn has their own review too, you might want to google it. me, i did a self review and work at the same time. i guess it was better for me, because i prefer to study on my own, and on my own pace.

you don't need a review centre, check out the NCLEX forum and look for a thread/sticky by Suzanne as she has done a programme but you have to complete the first part then PM her and she will take it from there.

Welcome to Allnurses.com......................:balloons:

I am going to move this thread to the International Forum as it is specific to working in the US at this point. And nothing to do with the Philippines licensure.

Immigration and licensure are two very different entities. You still need to go thru the licensing process as a foreign-trained nurse, immigration status does not change any of the requirements for that.

Please check out the NCLEX Forum for specifics as to preparing for the NCLEX exam. What you need to do to get permission to test will vary by the state that you are currently in.

Best of luck to you.
