Ha my first day of having to get use to waking up early...woo hoo. I'm a night owl..I can stay up till 4am but try and have me wake up before 11am is hard :) Yay...now lets just see if I can get alllll my requirements done by the 21st like they say...that should be interesting! My insurance will not be happening by then. I sent it it but I doubt that it will be back by then. Ha I did do pretty good on the rest though...so all that in 2 weeks isn't bad!

I just wanted to pass along that getting your required forms in on time is crucial because it jeopardizes their clinical placements. And you don't want Anna Brown, the secretary, looking for you!!!!!!!!!! She's a sweetie but all business, in fact, the whole nursing program, albeit the ususal glitches, is very strict. They want you to understand, heck, live and breathe the concept of 'professionalism.'

Good luck and enjoy your holiday break! Be sure to see all your loved ones and do some fun stuff cuz in a few weeks you'll have very little time to do anything but learn the 'nursing process.' You'll love it tho!

Feel free to PM me anytime! Enjoy your orientation on Monday! That's when the reality of all your hard work to get to this point comes to fruition!

Oh trust me everything else will be on time on the 21st :) ...except the insurance...but that will be in well ahead of time for clinicals...I just highly doubt that they will process my insurance in a week and a half and have it back to me! I may be extremely on top of things...but companies like that usually are not...and of course I will make sure the department knows so they don't think that I'm a slacker! :)

When I called my insurance they offered a 'certificate of coverage' letter. Perhaps to speed things up the rep. can send it via email or fax it to you. I remember having to make a couple of calls; they do tend to be laxed about it and it's just a letter for frickin' sakes! If you find that you are having problems with your carrier, just keep the office abreast of your situation. They are nice group in the office!

Are you excited or what? Do you have all your co-req's done? Do you know who your teachers are? If you already got your modules, their names are in there. The staff switches from 1st year classes to 2nd year classes every semester so you won't have who I had.

You think 8:30 is bad, most clinicals start at 7:00 am:uhoh3:. I have everything accept my MMR shot - my doctor didn't have it so I have to go to a clinic. I plan on getting that on Monday after orientation and turn in all paperwork that afternoon. I will tell you this, my arm is going to fall off because I've had so many shots in the last month and still need more - 2nd Hep B. But it's all worth it I can't wait to start:balloons:!!!!!!!!!!

See you and Amybethf on Monday!

Oh I know when I heard 7am I was like AHH! It will be something to get use to for sure! I use to work opening shift when I worked at Starbucks I would just stay up the whole night...start getting ready at 3am and go in at 4. When I got off I would go to sleep...can't be doing that here! To bad theres only 10 spots for evening clinicals :)

I am excited to be starting...I really wanted to start this semester...I was only on the wait list for...11 months come January. At the moment I do not know who my teachers are. I know that 1 was listed on the web site but I can't remember their name off the top of my head. I am buying all my books on Monday so I will have my modules than.

Unfortunately I do have 1 more pre req to do...its only Psy 253 though so I am not to worried. That will be a fun Monday though...I have class from 4:30 till 7:00 after a few hours of 120.

I bought my books on the 10th to get the few used ones they had left. If I were you, bring a very large book bag preferably the one you can pull on wheels. There are 12 required books/modules you need and they are very, very heavy.

Since everyone in my orientation was signed up for the same class, more than likely we will be classmates: Mondy 12:10-2:00 and Thursday 9:00-3:00 with clinicals on Tues. and Wed. I think they only offer 120 and 126 once in winter.

When is your final for 253? Good luck!

Yes we will be classmates for 120. We will meet in the room we had orientation in. We may be in different clinicals since they said there are 10 of us to a group. (6 different hospitals)

Just a quick note on evening clinicals...... they are great for "night owls" (like myself), but in the daytime you get sooo much more experience! I did evenings, and I only did one complete bed bath, one IM injection & a couple of sub-Qs. I'm actually a little nervous about having a daytime one because I feel so far behind. We did alot of charting in the evening. From what the daytime group said, they did ALOT more than we did.

I bet once you get up & going, you will adjust. Plus, you will be so excited, and the day goes by really, really fast.

I think I am also helping out at the orientation, so I will see you all there. Did they tell you that there will be things for sale (stethoscope, clipboards, etc...)? Bring some money. :)

We were told to bring checkbook :-p I knew about the scrubs being sold...of the stethoscopes, clip boards ect...is it good stuff? Or are we better off getting our things from a store?
