There is a lot of competition which is a good thing. I know a May class starts next week, the Fall starts in August, and Winter in January. Everyone is told the wait is 1.5 - 2 yrs. I know for a fact that some people who were only on the list for a few months are getting ready to start(rec. letters), I know for a fact that people who have gotten on the list well after me are getting ready to start (rec'd. letters) and I am wondering if I am missing something. I have talked to all involved at the campus and by far the most helpful and nicest imo is Dean Howe. She has her hands full and probably goes by what L & M feed her I am GUESSING??? I have everything completed as of the end of this week, no classes left to take and for others to jump ahead of me is a concern. The only classes that remain for me are NSG and my grade point is good. Am I missing something or is it random picking or the buddy system? Please post any ideas or thoughts. It's a bit frustrating not only for me but as I hear daily by most around me trying to get in also. I am all for the No Worker Left behind if you are qualified and serious, not in it just to make some cash. Just my thoughts, thx.

stay on them!!! hfcc is a small campus with alot of students and not much staffing. i had a friend in ur exact same situation, saw people passing her who she knew were in line behind/around her, but she never got a letter. she started to interrogate them about this and come to find out they got her paperwork mixed up, they said they sent out an acceptance letter and she never returned it, but they actually never sent out the letter. she had to start the program 1 month b4 it started and only bc 1 person dropped out. one thing i learned about hfcc is u must b very persistent with what u want/ u will never get it/ any answers for that matter. call/ pop in everyday if u have 2 some1 will give u the answers u r looking for.

so which is it? you won't get any answers or you will?
you are fairly new to the process. please don't bash hfcc with broad statements like this. i've dealt with more than a few college campuses and admission processes, and hfcc is the most efficient, and always has been.

I have to agree with you; HFCC is the 3rd CC that I attempted and they have been nothing but great! I had no run around like the ones and I feel they do a great job espicially considering thier class size.

When did you get put on the list?
I looked back at previous post and it looks like HFCC29 was put on the list at the end of the fall semester. so i would guess they will be accepted around the winter '10 or fall'10.
hfcc is a wonderful & well respected community college (same level as most universities), but just as i mentioned earlier it is quite small with many students and they are very short staffed. i have been attending hfcc since 2002 so i believe that i am entitled to share my experience as it pertains to this discussion. every school has flaws, just bc they r being addressed does not suggest that this is not a good school. the staff @ hfcc r humans, not robots people make mistakes, but sometimes mistakes may cost some1 their place within a program, there is nothing wrong with inquiring about ur status within a particular program if u feel that a mistake has been made. :redpinkhe
Well my friend just got her letter and she was put on the list May of 2008 I believe. So I guess look if you got on before or after her. If you got on before then contact them and ask where you are at on the list. If you are after her...then still got to wait a while. :-/

Hi, I am currently waiting for an invitation letter (was put on the list Aug '08) myself. I also advise checking with L & M for a status update before getting too upset. I have had trouble myself with HFCC in the past, particularly in the area of having my tscripts from Schoolcraft transferred in. Fortunately, I happened to mention that difficulty to LP when I went in for a status update on the wait list, and she was able to send me over to another office where someone immediately straightened out the whole mess for me (and this was after talking to several other administrators on the phone). She and MZ are very helpful. I'll be going in for another status check soon myself!
Good luck,
Jim

One question? Do you get a letter indicating you're placed on the wait list? I called L and she told me I was on the list...However, I want some evidence of this. Thanks
