HfCC waiting list
I did. There were six readmits that had some sort of priority that kicked me back. Jim

HfCC waiting list
I went to the office yesterday, and indeed the current plan is for 40 to be admitted in January and 80 to be admitted in May. My position on the list is 120- are you kidding me? We'll see if I have any fingernails left by May! Also, the college is discussing the possibility of building in a break for winter and spring starters. Apparently the straight-through schedule is causing more burnout and a higher failure rate in these semesters. Jim

I'm beginning to realize that nothing is definite at HFCC until it has already happened. The admittance numbers change more often than the weather in Michigan! Jim

HFCC - Winter 2010
I'm with you on making plans... that sure would be nice. When did you speak to them last; in the last couple weeks? I'll go over there tomorrow (Tue) for another chat. She spoke as though it was definite. Jim

HFCC - Winter 2010
Hi, I spoke with the advising office about two weeks ago. She said they are taking 120. I am 114 on the list right now, so if everything stays the way it is I will start in Jan. She also said they are starting a new May entry, but unsure on how many they will admit then. When were you put on the list? I got on in late Aug of '08. Jim

HfCC waiting list
I got an update today (8/10). She said they will admit 120 in January, and will also be starting a new May entry (unknown how many people). I'm 114 on the list, so I should be invited for Jan. (whew!). Hope this helps anyone else on the list. Jim

HfCC waiting list
I got the same love letter from them. I went to see (moderator edit of names/initials) and they said I might make the Jan '10 start depending on how many they decide to allow in (they'll know in a couple of weeks); and I was put on the list in late Aug. of '08. So, if I don't make it and have to wait until Fall of '10, I'll be among the first people to actually wait two full years on the list at HFCC. Grrrrrr....... Jim

HfCC waiting list
just an update for those (like me) on the hfcc wait list. i have been on the list since aug 29, 2008, and went to see (moderator edit of names/initials) for an update. they said another round of fall '09 invitations are going out next week and that will include people who were placed on the list prior to the end of june '08. they seemed to think it wasn't out of the question that i might be invited in the last round, but of course it just depends on how many decline. worst case scenario is a jan. '10 start. oh well, at least i can stop leaping out the window everytime the mail truck comes by. jim

HFCC concerns about the NSG wait list........................
Hi, I am currently waiting for an invitation letter (was put on the list Aug '08) myself. I also advise checking with L & M for a status update before getting too upset. I have had trouble myself with HFCC in the past, particularly in the area of having my tscripts from Schoolcraft transferred in. Fortunately, I happened to mention that difficulty to LP when I went in for a status update on the wait list, and she was able to send me over to another office where someone immediately straightened out the whole mess for me (and this was after talking to several other administrators on the phone). She and MZ are very helpful. I'll be going in for another status check soon myself! Good luck, Jim

HfCC waiting list
Thanks for the encouragement! I have all of the supporting classes out of the way now; just NSG classes left, so as you can imagine I'm not interested in sitting around waiting! I just want to "get the show on the road". Jim

HfCC waiting list
i was placed on the list in late aug. '08, and was told by (moderator edit of name/initials) that i was in line for jan '10, but that i may get a late invitation to fall '09. i know the first-round invitations for fall '09 just went out, and as expected i did not get one. hopefully a few will decline and i will get in for the fall start! either way, i was told i would graduate in may of '11. there's no break for those that start in january! jim

Informational meeting at HFCC
For what it's worth, I was put on the list in Aug. '08, and was told that officially I'm in line for the Jan '10 start, but I'm high enough that I MAY end up getting a late acceptance letter for Fall '09. I went in recently to talk to L.P. in the advisors office, and she said it still looks that way. Fall would be AWESOME! Jim

Any guys going/headed to HFCC ?
Hey, just wondering if anyone else is currently attending or about to start the ADN program at Henry Ford C.C.? Walking through the Health Careers building, I notice that all of the past graduating class pictures on the walls don't have very many male faces on them. I am on the bubble between starting Fall '09 or Winter '10. Jim

Microbiology/Human Disease Hillsborough Community College Summer 2008
Hello, I ran across your post and wondered if I could ask a few questions about Hillsborough Comm College. I'm finishing up my prereqs here in Michigan and am thinking of moving down there for the nursing program (my mother in law lives in Riverview). Do you know how many students are admitted to HCC's nursing program per year? Also, how satisfied are you with your overall experience at HCC so far? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, as it's hard to get a feel for a college from 1200 miles away! Thanks, Jim
