  1. There is a lot of competition which is a good thing. I know a May class starts next week, the Fall starts in August, and Winter in January. Everyone is told the wait is 1.5 - 2 yrs. I know for a fact that some people who were only on the list for a few months are getting ready to start(rec. letters), I know for a fact that people who have gotten on the list well after me are getting ready to start (rec'd. letters) and I am wondering if I am missing something. I have talked to all involved at the campus and by far the most helpful and nicest imo is Dean Howe. She has her hands full and probably goes by what L & M feed her I am GUESSING??? I have everything completed as of the end of this week, no classes left to take and for others to jump ahead of me is a concern. The only classes that remain for me are NSG and my grade point is good. Am I missing something or is it random picking or the buddy system? Please post any ideas or thoughts. It's a bit frustrating not only for me but as I hear daily by most around me trying to get in also. I am all for the No Worker Left behind if you are qualified and serious, not in it just to make some cash. Just my thoughts, thx.
  2. A bunch of us got the letter yesterday, probably cancelled for next year also. Wonderful economy.
  3. Are there any websites where I could get shoes for Nursing for a male that are mid-level or high tops for ankle support? Thx and much appreciated.
  4. Is it possible to find out where you are on the Nurse wait list, for example, at Henry Ford CC? Is it posted some where officially? Also, how can I track down my history of Titers? Anyone know? I appreciate any and all help. Thx and have a great/safe New Year 2009!
  5. What needs to be accomplished before orientation, I am having a hard time obtaining that info? What documents, vaccinations, physical, etc...? Thanks
  6. What is the time table once on the list to entering Nursing school at HFCC? I have been told 6-12 months by some administrators and 12-18 months by other administrators? Any one know with more accuracy? Thx
  7. Thank you for the info, there is a Life store not too far from me in Southgate I believe. I should have asked about watches also, any decent one's out there for the health environment?
  8. Where might be the best place to find scrubs/shoes in southeastern Michigan? The shoes have to be white and are for a male. Thank you very much.
  9. Thank you very much. That is why I like this site, it's such a big help, I really appreciate it.
  10. Does the Red Cross have this course every month and if so at each location or does it rotate? If for example I wanted to check out the schedule for July/August for one of the sites am I able to do that? I tried going onto the site and could only find June's schedule. Also, is there any Nursing assitant, tech, aide, CSP, like job that one could get with little or no experience? Thanks for your help.
  11. Can anyone please explain what this means, what kind of job it is, and do you need any experience to apply or obtain this position? Thank you
  12. How do you know you are going to start if you haven't gotten a letter?
  13. I was under the assumption that in order to work at a hospital, in any capacity, one would need some sort of training first, even for aide's, techs, assistant's, etc...
  14. I am currently taking my pre rec's at HFCC and have been researching for awhile now all over the net about advice, what to expect, etc... It would eventually turn into a career change. It seems a lot of great advice is given on this site and I appreciate it. What is the percentage of male to female nurse's currently? If I was interested, am I able to work any where in the medical field now (hospital) without any clinicals or training? That is all for now, thanks for the help.
