My school just switched to this . . . I had to take the TEAS and I hope I got in this year because otherwise I'll have to take the HESI also! It looks like there isn't any science on the HESI . . . which is kind of nice, that was my worst score on the TEAS.

I had to take the NLN RN pre-entrance exam and pass with a minimun 50% percentile in order to be eligible to apply. We also take HESI as an exit exam and must get a 900 for them to release our transcripts and take the boards. You get 3 chances if not, then you repeat a few semesters.
I am soon to take it and beyond terrified.

I just found out we will need the TEAS but not until we are accepted. Can you give me any info on that test.

We had to take the HESI before our last semester. I can't imagine having to take it before you having any nursing knowledge.
I guess . . . I don't know anything about it, they just announced that it's required now for pre-entrance. Sounds scary the way y'all are talking about it! I hope I get in this year so I don't have to take it!
The TEAS (what I took) is the Test for Essential Academic Skills from ATI institute. You can look them up online and they have a practice test which is somewhat helpful; they also have a study guide. The TEAS covers Science, Math, and English broken down into two sections but I forget what they are . . . maybe it's English and Reading . . . something like that. I didn't find the test that difficult, but I did study beforehand. The science was the hardest. FWIW I thought the study guide was much harder than the actual test.

We were required to take the HESI with a score of no less than 75%. There were eight parts to the test: Biology, A&P, Grammar, Spelling, Vocabulary, Math, and a couple of other parts that had to do with finding out what kind of learner you are. It was not as bad as I had expected it to be. During the program, we will have to pass another HESI before we can move forward. I believe that we have two chances to take the test and pass before advancing. I just got my letter of acceptance into the ADN program offered at Grayson County College in north Texas! Yay!!!!! Class of 2009, baby!!!!!!

I took the HESI A2 a few weeks ago... the entrance test. It's not bad at all. The study guide you can buy covers it all pretty well. We did math, reading, A&P, personality, and learning styles. I scored 95% composite on it.
