anyone have input, hints, whatever else you could offer for HESI exam V1? I actually believe that all versions 1 would be the same and all version 2 would be the same, but I could be way off. my thought it if they're dispatching this almost nationally, then it'd be easier to have a system like that. anyways ANYTHING would be helpful. so far I think I'm doing the right things, like I own about 3 or so HESI/NCLEX books/CDs what nots so I'm using that. I just have no direction on where to focus as there's so much! how many questions are there by the way. I wish they would offer a BLUE PRINT...so ridiculous. I guess NCLEX DOESN"T offer a blue print but this test what I have heard from other colleagues is harder than the NCLEX. well I'm going to make pancakes. Hope to here form someone either here or via my email [email protected] (underscore between mercedes and adam). I really think for those that need a little something extra, if we come together we'll hopefully get through it.

I don't know much about V1 vs V2 - but HESI is more difficult than NCLEX, imho.
NCLEX has all those "tricks" to help you get the right answer through context. HESI is almost entirely content based- if you dont know the disease, no amount of ruling out option is going to help you get the right answer.
My school let us take a practice run about 3 months before our official, so we got an idea of content areas we needed to focus on.
The NCLEX book written by HESI is the best way to study for the HESI. The CD on there will astound you with how much more difficult the questions are versus the silvestri CD.
Good luck :)

Just start with chapter 1 and work your way through everything, one day at a time. You can do this.

Took exit HESI 7x. I studied from previous questions, etc. NO LUCK! Then an employee sat down and went over 3-5 questions from Saunders NClex book. A LIGHT-BULB went off in my head. That setting was on a Saturday night (I work 7p-7a). That following Tues., after not studying anymore and doing 75 questions the morning of the last opportunity to take the HESI to graduate, I did what I learned from the Sat. night meeting with the employee.
Although I only received 866, needing 850 to pass, I knew, in my heart...I passed before the number showed itself.
My email is [email protected]. Please feel free to email me directly.

Hi everyone I'm a new member on this site but have been keeping up with the site to read peoples comments and advice. Also I promised myself that if ever something good happens to me after nursing school I would share my thoughts. Anyways I too failed my exit HESI exam and so I know what this exam can do to a person, anyway to make a long story short the policy of holding us back from graduating was over turned and we were able to graduate and sit for the NCLEX and I cannot share this enough seven of us who failed the HESI took an NCLEX review and we all passed the NCLEX in one try. So this is proof that HESI is no where near a predictor whether a student can pass the boards or not and should not be used as a graduating requirement but just as what it is supposed to be and that is an assessment tool no more no less

Hi 1lpn2rn, I am new at all this:bugeyes: . I have a question about the message you posted yesterday. I have to take the HESI as an entrance exam for school, but the HESI A2 and I was wondering if the HESI NECLEX-RN book would be helpful for me to use?? and if so do you think a 2008 eddition would be too old to use becuse I think thats the latest edditon?? thanks so much!!:)
