Hesi A2 test scores for UT Health Science Center

Published

Hi, I am applying for UT health science center and was wondering what people have scored on their Hesi A2 exam..?, so I can see what the approximate average score is....

Mine was

1) Reading Comprehension: 86.96

2) Meaning-Word Use: 100

3) Conclusions: 100

4) Implications: 91.67

5) Understanding: 75

6) Grammar: 94

7) Vocabulary & General Knowledge: 90

English Language composite Score: 90.32

8) Biology: 84

9) Chemistry: 100

10) Anatomy & Physiology: 96

Science Composite Score: 93.33

11) Math: 100

Cumulative Score: 92.99

Critical Thinking Score: 820

If you took it for UTHSC-Houston, did you also take reading comprehension, vocab and general knowledge? Or is that included in your English Language score... because I think those are required?

Also, how many questions were in each subject? 30?

If you're talking about UTHSC-Houston... they do require a biology subject--- the A&P section.

Yes, but we don't have to take the biology or chemistry section, just the a and p section. That is what confuses me, is cell makeup considered biology or is it in a and p. It's in all the a and p books...not sure. When are you taking the HESI PamQ?

I'm taking it in mid August! Oh okay, I see what you mean... I think cell makeup would be considered biology?

I have to take all sections, because all the schools I'm applying to require different sections :/

Good luck! :)

Thanks Kap87 and Nam123. I'll just study all the basics of a & p, if there are any basics, and see what happens. I took the TEAS V a few weeks ago and didn't do so hot on the a & p section...however, I heard it was harder than the HESI.

YEa i took the tEAS also..wow that test was crazyyyyyyyyyyyyy...

I got something in my email from you, but I it wouldn't let me open it...said i wasn't authorized. Did you send something? And when are you taking the HESI?

Nevermind Nam123, I read my email....I think my brain is fried right now. Thanks for the good luck!

For UTHSC-H they require all the sections except for biology and chemistry. All the sections have about 50?s and A&P has 30?s. Good luck!

Well, I took the Hesi on Saturday and have to say I was pleasantly surprised I did as well as I did(at least in my opinion). I wasn't too worried about any parts except for the a and p. I literally studied my butt off the week before relearning the body....although I just had completed a and p 1 and 2, I feel like I didn't retain any of it. I got the cliff notes for a and p, and revised them into my own cliff notes...rewriting helps me learn. I ended up with an 88% on the a and p part....whippie!!. I did much better on the other sections, except for the reading...I made an 89 in that. Overall, I made a 93% with an 850 in critical thinking(is 850 a decent score). That sections crazy, I'm not a nurse yet...but they just want to see if you can think on your feet and make logical, educated, rational decisions. Has anyone also applied to the UTA academic partnership program. I am not sure whether to pay the $1600 for the "3" nursing prereqs they want before starting their program. They want patho, intro to nursing, and pharm. Not sure if I do take them just case I don't get accepted to a traditional program, that they will transfer to another University. Good luck to everyone on the test. I was sooooooo nervous, but deep down I knew where my weaknesses were and focused on studying that. I just want an interview!!!!!!

Everpark,

I messaged you :)

Has anyone retaken the Hesi? I was just wondering if it is about the same as the first time.

I had to basically relearn a and p 1 and 2 from the cliff notes...that's the best way to prepare in my opinion. It summarizes all parts of the body! The other parts are very easy, just review either that or go over your a and p book. It's so broad, that its hard to really say where to focus..you just need to know a little about all the systems. Ham4u, I don't have anything I can e-mail, I just have books I bought. Sorry. Good luck, and start studying that a and p!
