The sections on the exam can include (some schools require all sections and some will only require several)

I just took the HESI A2 on March 7th and this book is the main reason why I passed with great scores. My school only required the Math, Reading, Grammar, Vocabulary, and A&P.

I took it last night and I only used Quizlet )search for Elsevier evolve), proprofs.com practice tests and the Pocket prep app; I got a 92 overall and took math, reading, grammar and vocab. Don't stress the math part. Out of 55 questions, 35 of them were probably ratio questions. for example they'd ask you to solve 452:15 53:x. I solved these by cross multiplying (452x=15 times 53) or by plugging in the answers to solve it. There was also a question that you'd have to set up the ratio for. It was: there are 89 children in the class and there are 7 girls for every 8 boys. I had a hard time setting it up but just started plugging in numbers and finally just guessed. lol. There were a few conversions, most being milligrams to grams so I used the "King henry Doesn't Usually Drink chocolate milk thing to help with that. I think I had maybe 3 roman numeral conversion questions. I only knew ten, fifty, hundred, five hundred and thousand and I did ok. The vocab, reading and grammar were easy as well. The grammar was mostly recognizing which sentences were grammatically correct and incorrect. You'll have to choose which word or phrase is incorrect. There were a few that asked you to know the difference between their/they're/there and 1 question about effect/affect. The vocab snuck 1 or 2 grammar questions in but they were easy. I'm sorry but I cant remember any specific questions about vocab.

What will be on your HESI exam depends on the nursing college expectations. Where I live they ask for math and English. English is broken down into vocab, grammar and reading comprehension. You then get a composite (average) score on the English (average of your 3 exams) and a math score. Plus you get an over all composite HESI score of the average of all the exams.

However, other schools will ask for A&P, physics, chemistry, biology etc. Your best bet is to contact the school and ask them.

I purchased the HESI Admission Assessment Exam Review book. It runs at about $30 new. I also took every online test I could, just search for "HESI" or "HESI free practice tests" etc.

I think lebelesprit_ and I took a similar HESI.....we don't have to do the sciences!

@ch105 I didn't have to take the A and P portion hun. Id suggest Pocket Prep. its an app; I really liked that. I also looked on Instagram for posts that may be screenshots of the actual books pages. You're a future nurse so there's no better time to start getting connected with other students just like you did here. There's a ton of videos on YouTube as well that will prepare you. I tried to watch them but I was honestly overwhelmed but its really good information. Good luck darling.

I just finished taking the test, and in addition to the other great suggestions above, I'd recommend looking at this website Language Arts Quizzes

I scored a 100% on grammar because of this site. Focus on adverbs, adjectives, and independent/dependent clauses, as well as grammatically correct sentences.

There were more than a few questions in the math section on adding/subtracting/multiplying compound fractions as well as ratio problems. Ask the test moderator if you can use a hand held calculator instead of the one provided on the screen, that one saved me a ton of time.
