(i purchased hesi compreshive review for the nclex-rn examination 2nd edition.... its has more of the nursing dx, medical-surgical nursing, pharmacology, fundamentals and not about math, voc, grammer, its more about rn level already. i think i got the wrong book. i cant retun it on amazon. i'll save it for the future once i'm in the program.)

To be honest I do not remember any vocabulary words (because I didnt really studied them )

Reading part was very easy.

It took me I believe 3 hr... maybe less... but I was not on any hurry to finish - the beautiful thing that this test is not timed (like NET was) so you just relax and take your time :) and you will do fine. This test is much better than NET, due to no time limits.

Good luck! Let me know how did you do.

1) let me ask you were the words something that one uses every day or more medical terminology like surgerys or different sympthoms.

2) were there homonimes (words spelled the same with a different meaning) lie- lay, amount vs. number; good vs well; among vs between; bead vs badly.....

3) how about grammar (where to put the comma, chose the right verb, commun nouns vs plural) was it simmilar to the exercises in the study guide?

please let me know.

Hi,

lie-lay was for sure  I remember this one, as well as where to put the comma, chose the right verb, common nouns vs plural. I would say exam was a spit copy of study guide - which I opened, briefly (which I was not happy about it on exam) looked through and went for exam. If you are reading carefully and working on some exercises from the study guide - you will be fine:yelclap:

Also, they have I believe 10 or 11 test options, so it does not mean, whatever question I got - you will have the same.

Stop freaking out - go to study and you will do just fine!!! I know I know, you probably think - yeah its easy to say since you done it:icon_roll

You will do great!!! Just relax, take your time and dont forget to breathe:smokin:

I took the test yesterday...93%...Once you get past the math it's pretty basic (very similar to a SAT)...at my school we were given a choice on the order of tests, take the math first and get it out of the way, it gives you your scores when you are done with each section...good luck...

Im just curious as to why there are even roman numerals on the test? I got a 96% on the math and missed both the roman numeral questions asked. Does anyone have any idea why roman numerals are relevant?

They still use roman numerals in the textbook - I.E., cranial nerves. Seems silly to me too, since it's harder to learn the nerve's names than the numeral for them...

Hey Brandon

Did you take Math 140? the roman numerals were piece of cake compared with the first chapter of Math 140. For me math was easy, English vocabulary was a little challenging but I managed it. However, because English is my second language, I will start to read more novels and improve my vocabulary.

I have a question, which is the easiest class of Humanities can you guys recommend for me to take it on line?

Do you guys know anything about "World Religions" how is it?:)

Hurrlybaby did you pass the HESI. I was so nervous taking the test. I studied the math for a couple of days and didn't study the reading at all. I am a native english speaker and to tell you the truth, some of the answers were tricky for me. Everytime I selected an answer and advanced to the next question, I doubted each answer. I ended up getting a 92% on the math and an accumalative 85 % on the reading. How did you do?

As far as a humanities class I am taking rock music history. My advisor gave me a list of all the classes that count for the humanities credit. So maybe that would be a cool class to take? Let me know if you applied yet too...:twocents:

I had Music in World Cultures loooong time ago. I think it was fun and easy. As of "World Religions" - one of my friends took it long time ago in ASU they mentioned that it was good class (but I think Music class should be the easiest )

So, Hurrlybaby, did you pass HESI? I hope you did :)

Hi everyone,

Yes, thanks God I did pass the HESI, with 83.54 % which it is ok for my college (75% is required). The vocabulary words were hard for me, some of the words I have never seen before, and there were not a lot of clue in the text. Another thing in math was to determine which number is bigger( 0.06, 0.9, 0.076, 0.76 ) and what we learned in Europe the bigger one is the one that is close to 1 on the axes (+OO....3..2...1...0..0,1....0,5.....-OO ) I do not know how do they do it here in US. Yes, I did apply to Glendale Community College, cause it is close to my house ( although, I live in Chicago until I start the program). Do you guys know what is the next step?

Do they call you, send you a letter to confirm that I am on the waiting list?

What should I do, I did not get anything until now (I applied on the 18 of May) I have a 3.78 GPA, so it should not be a problem for me to be accepted, does it take longer than that, I am stressed out, I need a confirmation.

Hey well I am happy that you passed congrats. I have a link for you to check the status of your application. I spoke to another advisor yesterday about my app since when I applied at Boswell I had to transfer my transcripts to that school in order to apply. You will be in the same pool as me because they take the group from April 1st through May 31st and submit all of the together in the database. So when we are placed in a program there is a good chance that we will be placed around the same time. I applied the 25th of May the next day I recieved an email from the advisor telling me that my app had been submitted. It said also that my app was scheduled to be randomized on the 11th of June. This is the date I'm supposed to get my date/time stamp which is my lottery number which identifies me in the database. The link is a link to the application status page for everyone on the waiting list. You input either your student ID number or your SSN. Which ever one works. Hey let me know if you find it out. Let me also know if you have anymore questions. My last advisor gave me so much info it's filling my brain to full capacity. LoL!!!!:twocents:

Hello, hurrlybaby!

First, Congrats!

I'd like to know how much Evolve's studyguide was helpful, especially English section(Voc., grammar, reading..).

Also it'll be great if you share more detailed info about Voc. reading comprehension.

Thanks in advance!
