Anyone attending Herzing University this fall?
I am very hands on so being able to do those worksheets while following along with her will be great for me. I am a certified medical assistant, but I currently work as a Med Tech and Resident Assistant for an Assisted Living facility. I work with people that have Alzheimer's and Dementia. Do you currently work in the medical field?
I agree with you. I'm an MA as well, I work for a Children's Hospital outpatient. I pick up as a PCT on weekends to have the inpatient exposure and I have learned so much we don't do in the outpatient world.

That is awesome! I hope to land a position at a hospital during school so I can have one foot in the door. However, I volunteer at Nemours and it has been the best experience ever. I have seen things a lot of people never get to see. The doctors teach me things since they know I'm in nursing school and everyone has been supportive of my success. It is by far, the best decision I could've ever made.

That's a great experience! Definitely take in everything they are willing to teach as it will come in handy for you come nursing school. It does help to have some medical/clinical experience if at all possible.

That's true. I know my current job will be beneficial because I'm doing most of the stuff the CNA'S do, on top of giving medications. Being able to be network is key too.

Very true, and its nice to have that experience to make sure Nursing is for you or not. For sure you will have some great insight seeing as you volunteer at Nemours and within your current employer.
I couldn't agree more because cleaning, lifting, bathing, and feeding people that are prone to kicking, punching, scratching and biting you is not for the faint at heart. You truly have to love what you do to be able to go back day to day. Plus doing the grunt work will only make me a better nurse in the end.Very true, and its nice to have that experience to make sure Nursing is for you or not. Completely agree with you 110%! Sometimes working from the bottom up will help one have a better understanding of what it takes to be a great Nurse.
I actually won't be taking Cultural Diversity until Fall of next year. When you go to the Orientation, they'll let you print out your schedule and mine shows all the way until 12/20/17; Of course some items are subject to change like the teacher and such. I can't wait for the RN specific orientation. I took the computers course and Professional Development last semester. I'm taking the Focused Tutorial class next week. What day does your class fall on?
How were the computers and development courses? I'm not sure what day as yet, I'll be sure to check tomorrow at orientation.
