Anyone attending Herzing University this fall?

How were the computers and development courses? I'm not sure what day as yet, I'll be sure to check tomorrow at orientation.

Both of the classes were easy to be honest, which was a breath of fresh air for the classes to come. Professional Development was really short and it mainly consisted of watching the presentation weekly and participating in the discussion board. The weekly assignments consisted of setting goals for yourself and affirmations. With computers, if you're a basic computer user, it'll be an easy A. Some sections you may not even have to read because you may already know how to use the application. We went over what a computer, laptop, etc is. Also, how to use the different Microsoft applications. Neither of these classes will stress you out, which is good.

Herzing's nursing program costs $8725 per semester.

You don't think that's INSANE?!

Especially since you're in Florida - the state colleges are around $100-120 per credit. You can get your entire associates degree at Valencia College, Polk State, Pasco-Hernando State, Colege of Central Florida, State College of Florida, and many many more... for less than the price of one semester at Herzing. You can go from nothing to BSN at those schools for less than $15k - less than 2 semesters at Herzing.

What could you possibly be thinking?!

I'll be working FT as well. I need to, so I hope it's doable as well.

Fingers crossed, let's hope we can continue FT.

Too eaches own. I agree the local community colleges are a lot cheaper. Let's take VCC for example it will take you 2 years for pre-reqs, go on a wait list for the RN program, once your in the program it will take you 2 years and if you get accepted to do the concurrent program at UCF for your BSN that's another 2 years so 6 years in total?? And they only offer the Nursing Program during the day. I don't know about you but I need my job to help provide for my family and with Herzing they offer the program at night which is convenient for some of us. Honestly after FA, scholarships, tuition reimbursement for your BSN with Herzing it's about $50-$60K which puts them in the same bracket as some of these other private colleges within the area. For some it's the "convenience" with the program being offered day or night which works for them. If it doesn't work for you and your one of the fortunate ones able to either work PT, not work at all or work nights then hey more power to you.

How can you come on here and chastise us for our choice of school? Everyone has their reasons why they choose the things they do and you have no right to imply that we're crazy for attending Herzing. That's like asking a parent why would they send their child to a private school when they could get the same education for free. Since you'd like to know, I chose Herzing, as @shortie062 stated, for it's convenience. I have children and I work full-time so I needed a place where I can go at night. Valencia takes entirely too long just to obtain an Associate's degree. Many of those places you named are not even near me, so definitely not an option. UCF is highly competitve and wanted to make me re-do classes I've already gotten an A in (in another state), same with Seminole State. Herzing is a great school and had 100% NCLEX pass rate. Furthermore, Herzing offers a lot of scholarships and such to cut costs. Some of us don't mind paying more to get what we need. I would never question anyone's choices or reasoning for picking a certain school. Your post was quite rude.

Future nurse from Atlanta. How's things going so far at your campus? (Lol, I haven't gotten a orientation yet)

It got harder the second time for me but I kinda took the test somewhere else a couple days after failing it the first time.
