Wow! I just called Herzing and I was told that info is not given over the phone. I would have to go to Alabama for a nursing meeting. But I was told that there are no pre reqs required. They are all included in the program and it's a 12 month program. All I wanted to know was info on the cost, when are apps. accepted, when do classes begin... you know typical questions. If anyone knows any information please let me know. Although I live in Atlanta I may consider commuting it's only 2 hrs from my house. I just don't want to have to wait another year before I get into any other program.
Hi,I have to disagree on something. I went a few years ago.. to see about the RN program. I was told that I had to have had high school bio and chemistry and algebra with lab. I had none. I was back in the day..lol allowed to choose and I chose business instead of College prep in my high shcool. I have gone and taken my CNA and first aide/cpr is active still.. and would like to take the LPN there. I live in WI. Here the program is 10 months for the LPN diploma. I am not sure ..if there was any prerequisits for LPN thee. I am going to have to call them.. I will be happy in WI being an LPN. This state is one of the few left that still hire and respect them. My bff.. is an RN in NJ and she said .. I would never .. get a job there as an LPN.. they are in the process of getting RNS to get their BSNS. So.. I am glad I live here... where they are still welcome. Not everyone .. wants to become an RN.
Thanks.. Leah
My information is only regarding the program in ALABAMA....as that is the state I'm located in, and posted the comment on the State thread...there were no prereqs for the LPN program, although some of my coursework did transfer in (English, etc.). It is important to compare "apples" to "apples" and I'm sure that programs differ from state to state due to different requirements by the BON for each state.
Do you know when they start LPN to RN mobility? Is it every fall? I was going to go to the information session last night, but one of my kids got sick...I just dont want to waste my time going down there if it's not something worth doing. Since they won't give me any information over the phone.
I went up to Herzing today and received info since I tried to get in the program last year around this time however, the TEAS test was not on my side at the time. i just finished Micro and A&P II at Lawson. I'm not in the mood to sit around my mailbox all Summer waiting on info from Lawson that's why I'm inquiring about Herzing. I missed the TEAS by 4 points. I need to prepare for the test. I am determined. If it's worth having, it's worth fighting for ( or studying hard for)!
