okay so i was in the med room last night, which is located directly behind the nurses station and hear one of the aids scream.:uhoh21: this was about 2330-2400. i walk out to see whats going on and omg there is santa standing in front of us. i have no idea who this person is. he is laughing hysterically at us. he is swaying back and forth and doesn't say a word. i freak out. my cell phone was in my pocket so i was trying to grab it. the aid finally says "tom" he says "yeah" and she busts out laughing. i still have no idea who this is but since she knows i went and found the other aid (i am still freaking out) she comes up to see who it is. she knows him to. so i relax alittle.
come to find out, he is a guy who comes in all the time to play guitar and such for the residents. i have only seen him maybe 2 times before (i work mostly nights) i thought he was there to rob us or something he is actually kind of lucky i didn't call the cops or santa might of got tazed (the swaying was d/t parkinson's) i have already had enough christmas this year.:icon_redface:

years ago, when i was working in the icu "santa claus" came walking into the unit closely followed by two security guards. no one is supposed to come walking in, but i figured the guards had it under control. "santa" walked up to one of our new nurses, dropped down on one knee and proposed to her where she stood. turns out he was our girl's long distance lover. now he's her husband!

he IS lucky you didn't call. Isn't that a weird time for Santa to show up (ya know, unless he's coming down the chimney?)

The hospital my gran used to be in, had an intruder dressed as Santa one night. The best thing is he got in the window and the care assistants never went to investigate straight away because they thought it was just a patient getting up!!!

This reminds me of something that happened in one of the facilities on Cape Cod. A man walked in with a doctor's bag and a lab coat and told one of the nurses he was the new podiatrist and could she please get all the patients ready so he could examine them. A half hour or so went by while he was examining the patients. Then one of the older nurses came up to him and asked to see his ID. He grabbed his bag and ran out the door. Turns out he was just a weirdo with a foot fetish.
The moral of the story? Always ask for ID even if it is Santa.
