I asked BECAUSE it is a fact that non-English (as a first language) speaking nursing students have a much higher fail rate for the NCLEX, and I wondered if this wasn't a large part of your failure problem. Maybe taking a step back and taking a class on how to conquer this portion would be beneficial to you.

English is not my first language and I don't spell it that way but I can figure out it means "because".

This is where you need to take a break! I've taken, passed and even retaken several CA state board tests in other fields and trust me- you need to rest your mind, then go back and refresh, study, review and you will be amazed at what you've actually retained! Take a day or two off, then figure out where you're weakest areas are and focus on those, you should already have an idea of where your weak points vs strong points are.

Good Luck!

Welp, I did not pass my exam. Still waiting to get my report in the mail as I only tested on Monday. I had a weird number like 160 some questions. I got hit hard with a lot of infection control and which pt would you see first questions. I plan to meet with one of my instructors as she specializes with NCLEX reviews. I will pass next time

I took my NCLEX-RN 4 times. Just when I thought 3rd time's the charm, nope it wasn't. I took the liberty to pay for a review course. I took Hurst review. And boy was it a game changer in the way I studied. Main tips to remember when taking the dreaded test, "you are a brand new nurse" with only 2 years of vast nursing knowledge. The test isnt designed to see if you know everything, no one knows everything. Its a "safety test". Its basically a test to see if you will or will not kill anybody. The first 3 attempts I did was when I had the mind set that I needed to know as much as I can and memorize everything as much as I can. It was a big mistake. Mind set needs to be changed geared into thinking, you are "new" and to see what a new nurse would do. For example, If you see a medication you havent seen, and the question asks which you should clarify, I honestly selected the ones I have never seen, because as a new nurse, I would clarify it. But Hurst does more than that. I highly recommend Hurst review if you are struggling for it helped me a lot. I passed with my 4th attempt at around 190ish questions. A lot of SATA. Good luck to you all that are struggling. Hope this helps.

It's hard to say but I know Kaplan has. Great review online and in person and you can pay in three payments I believe!! I know how you feel!!! Best of luck to you but there are other options if you do not pass let me know if I can help if you do not pass this last time :) it's stressful but try Kaplan review :)

Vulupure, I agree 100% that Uworld is awesome. I passed the boards on October 6th and all I reviewed was Uworld and some Hurst. The rationales were the best and I made notes and was able to review those after my 30 days subscription with Uworld. I will agree it was really worth it and it also helped that the testing screen for NCLEX mirrored Uworld so I felt familiar with the layout. I stopped after 92 questions and though I felt for sure that I failed due to the similarities of the answer choices and the difficulty with choosing the correct one, but I knew the content with the help of Uworld. For anyone who is still searching give it a shot and then decide for yourselves.
