  1. Live in Texas and had to test out of New York!! I have to admit I'm the over analyzer I break questions down and think too far into them I go real deep lol then I get it wrong. I've been a practicing LVN for about 8 years now. It's not that I don't know the "Basics" it's simply the way they ask the questions I have a problem with smh I always get it down to two but then my anxiety kicks in
  2. I'm on attempt number 6 coming up so I'll look her up and see. Yes come test day I go through withdrawals lol, migraine, palpitations etc etc. I need a Xanax I suppose lol. Thank you.
  3. Does she do a class out there? I'm failing time and time again but when I get my results I'm close just not close enough. Frustrating but not giving up!!
  4. Yes, don't give up I had to go to alternate state as well to test. And today I received another no pass but my results indicate I am close in all areas although it doesn't take away from continuing to figure out what I am doing wrong. It's so frustrating but I'm not giving up I will continue to go forth and keep studying different methods to pass. So here's to another attempt!! Good luck to you and do not give up!! I did although review my content on you tube to refresh my memory since I am a visual learner and I did learn a lot new content that I didn't get in Nursing school now I just have to apply it to questions. Do not let anyone discourage you just keep trying to figure out what your doing wrong and go from there. Best of luck to you and to me :) !!! We got this eventually!!
  5. Thank you so much! This was definitely helpful about to take a shot at it again not giving up though !!!
  6. This is true!! My Doctor that I worked for said he graduated Medical School with a "C" to continue at the bottom of his class but he graduated nonetheless!!!! And he's the smartest Doctor I know!! Love positive responses, some Nurses are rude and obnoxious and forget that we're suppose to pick each other up not being each other down.
  7. It's hard to say but I know Kaplan has. Great review online and in person and you can pay in three payments I believe!! I know how you feel!!! Best of luck to you but there are other options if you do not pass let me know if I can help if you do not pass this last time :) it's stressful but try Kaplan review :)
  8. Terrifying is knowing that your a number to a nurse not an actual patient. In my case I'm a great floor nurse and unfortunately for me I second guess myself in exams always but at the end of the day there are "RN's that will look for me to help. R sure I have the floor experience they lack so I'm always glad to help and I would never say it's terrifying that they cannot do what I can. They passed their boards but freeze on the floor. And little me LVN always help anyway I can! Sad to even think that nurses as such are commenting this way when the only thing we should fear is how we will be judged one day. I will give my life to save a life and for nurses like you I would still save your tears in the floor even if I dislike your untasteful remarks. Sad so sad!!
  9. Thanks so much! May I ask what state you were able to do it??
  10. Yes sure, just for kicks. ??? You must be a book nurse. Now last I checked Nurses are compassionate but in your case obviously not. So who needs to retake their ethics class??? Better yet how to bring each other up not tear nurses apart smh.
  11. Well I'm not up to eight "Yet" lol but since you find humor in it then by all means enjoy. All in all some people are book smart, some will kick "book" nurses butt on the floor and some just don't have time to study or can't make up their mind on what to do except that book work isn't going to save someone's life because no matter what, when the body decides to do what it feels then if you are not trained to take that seriously at the moment and know or have been trained to do it NO BOOK can save a real humans life !!!! Another HUMAN nurse does. So Kuddos to her passing it on the 8th time!! NEVER giving up!! Plus there isn't a price tag on what someone pays into their future!!
  12. My state can't make up their mind if they want remediation or repeat the entire course and by all means I'm not trying to slip out of anything. I'm trying to get answers and what's even more frustrating is that "Dr's" are giving me incorrect or contradicting information so tht in itself is clear as day that they do not know their own board rules! Nonetheless If I have to take a remediation I am not opposed to that I just need to find a way to keep going. Ty
  13. Thanks so much for the reply and with that said maybe not daily but it's defi happening and it could potentially happen to anyone of us nurses :/ although your correct in noting this :). I have failed due to not putting 100% but in all honesty I also waited too long to test and did not put full effort on my part and given another opportunity I will make it happen if I can find a way to make it happen. I will do a refresher course and pull out my books after I find a way to be able to retest, I just want another chance thank you.
  14. Very well said ! I didn't pass my RN either, now I'm looking into doing it out of state due to cut off. But reading some of the responses makes me feel like I am not worthy of what I've accomplished and I've been an LPN for 7 years geez I don't think some of these nurses realize that negative feedback only brings us further down into a spiral smh:(
  15. Hi everyone so I too have failed the Texas BON NCLEX RN exam x 5. I have always been a terrible test taker and I did very well in nursing school. I have been an LVN for 7 years and I have been given many compliments to my teachings for other nurses. I started as a CNA for two years then a medical assistant for twelve years before I went into a nursing program. I was a "B" student and made it through LPN school while I worked full time with three children at home. I passed RN school but failed at my exam and I truly believe largely because of working too much and now my time expired so I do not feel that it's fair to say I'm incompetent or I shouldn't have another shot at it in another state. Everyone including the BON keeps saying remediation, although every time I contact the BON they say go back to your school. They are of no help in fact this last time I stated that what was the rationale in doing nursing school over again to obtain the same degree ASN?? I didn't fail nursing school I failed an exam due to many issues each time I took it I did not put forth the effort it required. So what I need is an answer on how I can take this exam in another state or who I can contact to help me because like a previous post I read, a nurse has to do great in the books and on the floor and trust me there are RN's loosing their licenses daily due to "Floor" mistakes because we all know that book world and real world differ drastically. I deserve to obtain my RN I've worked hard, proven my ability in the classroom, set examples even for some RN's that do not have the skills I have, so can someone be more sympathetic to poor test takers please. Thank you, oh and my friend who also graduated with me whom was an "A" student in the classroom and has failed also needs help alongside me :) much love to all you wonderful nurses.
